Dear Readers,

If you are enrolled in VA health care you can use your local urgent care or local (CVS) pharmacy in order to get a flu shot, covid shot, or urgent care for non-life threatening conditions.

Don't use the urgent care benefit until you read over the VA details, but in general you need:

1. Be enrolled in VA health care and have been seen by a primary care doctor at least once every two years. (if you previously enrolled and have not see a VA doctor in the last two years than you need to start back seeing your VA doctor in order to qualify for this VA benefit).

2. Check the VA find locations to see which urgent care location are available to you, only those places listed can provide the urgent care for VA.

3. Download the VA card showing what you need to do, and where you can go locally.

4. Also from my personal experience be aware that some of the valid locations may have some employees who do not know about the program. Show the employee the print-out of the information, and do not leave until a manager is called to assist.

5. DO NOT MAKE ANY CO-PAY AT THE TIME OF URGENT CARE, if there is any co-pay required the VA will bill you, and you will sent payment to the VA just as if you went to the VA medical Center.
