The overarching message is an urgent appeal to the Government and defence authorities to take immediate and effective administrative action to address the persistent challenges faced by veterans, war widows, and family pensioners under the SPARSH pension system. These challenges include delays in pension processing, errors in entitlement management, inadequate grievance redressal mechanisms, and difficulties arising from the system's implementation and operation.
The appeal underscores the need for greater transparency, accountability, responsiveness, and time-bound resolution of grievances to ensure that defence pensioners receive their rightful benefits without undue hardship. It further emphasises that the welfare, dignity, and financial security of those who have served the Nation, as well as their dependents, must remain a paramount responsibility of the State. Accordingly, the appeal calls for meaningful reforms and corrective measures to restore confidence in the pension administration system and uphold the trust of the veteran community.
