AWWA Ex-Gratia Grant Enhanced – Important Information for Military Families

The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) has announced an increase in the Ex-Gratia Grant provided to the Next of Kin (NoK) of deceased soldiers.

Key Highlights

✅ The Ex-Gratia Grant has been increased from ₹30,000 to ₹50,000.

✅ The revised amount will be applicable for cases of death occurring on or after 15 June 2026.

✅ The grant will be paid to the eligible Next of Kin (NoK) on behalf of the President, AWWA.

✅ The concerned unit will initially disburse ₹50,000 to the NoK and subsequently seek reimbursement through the respective Command AWWA from the AWWA Secretariat.

✅ All formations and units have been instructed to disseminate this policy widely to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are aware of the enhanced assistance.

My husband had demised way back in 1998.  I had not idea about any such type of grant as I am residing in a rural place and no exploration about such schemes.  Can I claim the same now.  Someone please respond.
