NFU (When Sanctioned) - IMPACT ON PENSIONERS

Dear Friends,

As Col Mukul's battle in SC is nearing a fair culmination, 

We are flooded with qries fm Vtrns as to how it will affect pensioners. Here serving offrs will be directly benefitted as per rules in increase of the salaries, while pensioners will benefit only  during  following OROP reviews. 

We feel that the real impact on serving offrs will be directly related to  their  DOB .  Since we retire earlier than our Civ counterparts , the requisite waiting period for NFU application may come only  after retirement of the offrs. Hence many will lose the NFU benefit due to the earlier retirement age.

Just to clarify this point, we are aware that many offrs duly approved for next rank, specially those nearing their retirement age,  retire before their turn to pick up the next rank comes up because of their DOB.. 

If we are correct in our thought process maximum number of  Lt Cols (TS) and Cols (TS) will be the main  gainers while only few  Brigs and Maj Gens will be benefitted.
