I am forwarding the letter/mail received from IESM as I have not been able to send reply to them, and also  quoiting what I wrote to them which bounced back, although am a member of IESM

Hope it can be reached to to the orginater of the letter by some one.

RBI has ordered all banks for immediate payment of enhanced pension arrears with 8% penal interest.

 

Please read three letters of RBI attached.

 

Take a printout of the letters of RBI and go and thump the table of the Branch Manager of your bank and demand immediate payment of the arrears. Even if you have received the arrears already, demand 8% interest on the delayed period.

If you read carefully the RBI has restricted the penal interest to 8% without giving any deadlines.

What is the due date for receiving the enhanced pension arrears.RBI letter states 8% interest from due date. It all confusing.

                            There is no date/deadline given - but we can assume 2 weeks from date of issue of letter as fair time so interest should be payable from 01 Feb 2013. Otherwise legally by that token they can wait till we die of waiting

Dear Sir,

I am drawing my pension from SBI Branch Chandigarh but as on date i have not recd the arrears nor is there any sign of payment in the near future. I visited the Bank & i was told that the calculations are done by CPPC Panchkula. I am an 80 year old pensioner and cannot visit Panchkuka. The Branch has refused  to give me the telephone no of CPPC so that i could ask them the position.

 Are they waiting for my departure from this world & then they will credit it to my account. PNB & some other Banks have already paid  the enhanced Pension arrears. I don't know what is wrong with SBI ? Can anybody help ?
