Greetings. By now you all must be aware that with the untiring efforts of Major Dhanpalan and Col B K Sharma we have won the rank pay case. The struggle that our colleagues have to make is well known. Any amount of appreciation is too little for the effort they have made.
I too am trying my bit to get justice for the defence officers.
Though my case is limited to the rank of officers of the rank of Major/equi only but in reality it would benefit all officers of the rank of Hon Officers to Brigadiers.
Currently our4 case which was to come up for hearing on 14-9-2012 has been altered to 14-1-2013. The reason for this shift is presumably clubbing of about 16 cases with our case.
You must also be aware about the committee under Cabinet Secretary which was formed by the Honurable prime Minister to address the issue pertaining to defence personnel. The above committee has forwarded its recommendations to the PM and the result is awaited.
I have been contiually receiving calls from my colleagues regarding the progress of the case.
Dear Sirs, I can understand your anxiety to get quick result, but do not forget that we are presently at the door of the supreme court and much agaibst our wishes have to undergo the proc edure set by the apex court
The advocate Gp Capt Karan Singh Bhatti is same who got us the rank pay. I urge you all to wait patiently for the big day which is not very far and result dhall be in our favour.
May be that we may not have to wait till 14-1-2013
Regards
Avtar Singh Lt Cdr(Retd) 7-9-2013
