The process for home delivery of medicines is overly complex and accessible to only a small segment of beneficiaries. In contrast, the existing arrangement—where we procure Not available medicines from the open market and seek reimbursement—is far more user-friendly and efficient. However, the reimbursement mechanism is significantly delayed and needs urgent streamlining to ensure claim settlements are completed within a week. A key benefit of the existing system is that it enables us to access higher-quality medicines compared to those typically supplied through ECHS. Dear Sir The home delivery system was first suggested by me to Maj Gen Indurkar the then MD. He had been able to proceed till the RFI stage and then retired. The initial plan was to empanel a e-pharmacy and all medicines will be home delivered after e-sehat RX by a Medical officer. Unfortunately, it appears that E-sehat has been selved. With e-sehat gone and the kind of restrictions put the very purpose of saving manpower and establishment cost with reduced footfall in polyclinic . We faujis are expert in complicating a simple procedure. I am a proud Hindu and I believe Ahimsa, essentially, is doing everything to stop Himsa. Ahimsa is not the absence of Himsa, but the use of Sam, Dam, Danda, and Bhed to achieve peace. People often ask me what we can do for the soldiers. The answer is "be an Indian who is worth fighting for. "See if you can be one" Do I have enemies? Yes.Good. That means I’ve stood up for something, sometime in my life. Cdr Ravindra Waman Pathak I.N. Dear Sir, Thank you for your efforts toward improving ECHS services. As the saying goes, *"Where there is a will, there is a way." *This time-tested proverb reflects the power of determination in overcoming challenges. Unfortunately, this spirit seems to be lacking within the ECHS (Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme) administration. From top to bottom, there appears to be a consistent absence of will to enhance services and sincerely address the genuine concerns of veterans. Despite repeated feedback and clearly visible shortcomings in the system, meaningful reforms continue to remain out of reach. This lack of commitment not only affects the efficiency of the scheme but also undermines the dignity and well-being of those who have faithfully served the nation.
