In order to have stream labels in OBS, you need to download the stream labels widget from Streamlabs. Visit their site and log in (or create an account). From the dashboard, complete the following steps:
We hope you have found this article helpful in learning how to integrate stream labels into your favorite streaming software. You can also change the location of the text sources at any point to make your channel appear more appealing.
This chapter will show you how to insert a WEBM file as source in your OBS scene using the WEBM file "rodan-overlay-nosocial" to showcase your labels. You can simply follow the same steps for "Follower", "Subscriber" or the complete label design bars with their respective WEBM files.
Now you have integrated your design element for your labels! You can always double-click on the media source to return to the properties window if you ever want to make changes to your source settings (speed, color range, looping or swapping out the WEBM file entirely).
Look for the "Scenes" dock in OBS Studio and select the scene where you would like to insert the webcam source. Clicking "+" in the "Sources" dock will bring up a drop-down menu that allows you to include various elements in your stream scene. Now select "Video Capture Device" to add your device. Give it a name and click "OK".
Allow transparency: You can activate this checkbox if you want to use certain overlays like Stream Avatars, where the characters are integrated into the stream as a game capture. (Keep in mind that these programs should not fill the whole screen but only show the characters.) Transparency makes sense for such game captures; leave this item disabled otherwise.
This order should ensure that there are no overlaps and your stream is perfectly legible. Of course, this order can be adjusted depending on your setup: not everyone has a webcam or chat integrated into the scene. It is just an approximate guideline.
In addition to helping streamers connect with viewers who are more likely to be a good fit for their communities, these labels also help protect younger viewers and advertisers. Content labeling has become a common practice across the media and entertainment industry, both from a safety perspective and to provide important information that helps advertisers better target the content their ads appear alongside.
Content Classification Labels will be available to use starting today. Viewers may report streams they believe warrant a label. If, after a human review of those reports, you are found to have mislabeled your stream, you will receive a warning and the correct label will be applied. To give streamers plenty of time to understand how they will be expected to use the labels, warnings issued until July 20, 2023 will only result in the appropriate label being applied to that stream but will not accrue. After July 20, 2023, warnings will accrue, and repeated warnings will lead to a label lock.
Account suspensions will not be issued for incorrectly labeling a stream. If you fail to accurately label your stream, you will receive a warning via email. Multiple warnings will be issued before any other action is taken. Repeated failure to label content correctly may result in Twitch applying a label to your stream on your behalf that will be locked for a period of days or weeks, depending on the number of prior warnings.
To be more direct - many ASMR practices are focused on mindfulness and are not sexual, but we consider kissing or licking a microphone to fall within Sexual Themes. Additionally, many Hot Tub streams are intended to draw attention to body parts such as the buttocks, groin, or breasts, and will need to be labeled.
When you apply these labels to your stream, an interstitial will be shown to viewers informing them of the type(s) of content in your stream. Once the viewer provides consent, they can watch as they normally would.
TwitchAlerts Stream Labels is a Google Chrome extension produced by TwitchAlerts. It runs on your computer within your Google Chrome web browser, and it updates the files that you use in your stream as text, which includes scrolling text. For example, it allows you to see your most recent donations.
TwitchAlert allow you to run streams on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube. With TwitchAlerts Stream Labels, you are able to update the files you include with your stream (Xsplit, OBS, etc.) as text. The extension has a lot of problems, which are mainly caused by the fact that the developers are not keeping up with modern technology to the point where streamers are using different devices and their Google Chrome extension is not updating their files correctly. Another problem seems to be security based, such as when the extension tries to log you into Twitch, but instead it tries to log you into a different website that you have never heard of.
If you are looking to continue streaming and using your streaming efforts to build a following, then you may find TwitchAlerts Stream Labels useful. At the very least, it may be a time saver. Otherwise, if you are an occasional streamer, then this sort of extension may feel a little like overkill, especially if you go to the trouble of setting the extension up and then it doesn't work.
