3. КВН на Federation Square - Пресс-релиз
10 декабря в 19:00, в субботу, в театре BMW Edge на Federation Square
состоится концерт КВН (Клуба Веселых и Находчивых) - впервые за много
лет в Мельбурне! Команда VVERH NOGAMI из Мельбурна будет встречать
гостей из Сиднея - команду Шнурки. Для сиднейцев это возможность
сыграть матч-реванш, ведь на КВНе в Сиднее, состоявшемся в июне этого
года, Шнурки проиграли мельбурнцам в упорной борьбе с минимальным
разрывом в 0.1 балл.
В любом случае юмористическое противостояние двух австралийских
городов обещает быть напряженным для команд, но от этого еще более
интересным и захватывающим для зрителей. Вести игру будет известный
театральный деятель Мельбурна Дмитрий Пронин. Тема игры - <<Новый
Год>>. Игра состоится на русском языке.
VVERH NOGAMI (Мельбурн)
Команда образовалась в 2009 году в Мельбурне. На счету команды более
чем успешное выступление на Международном Фестивале КВН в Лондоне в
октябре 2011 года под именем Сборная Австралии, где мельбурнцы
поразили искушенную лондонскую публику своим задором, энергией и
скоростью. Также VVERH NOGAMI уже приняли участие и в <<Большом КВН>> на
Первом Канале российского телевидения, задав видео вопрос участникам
Спецпроекта КВН 2011.

Шнурки (Сидней)
Молодая, но очень динамичная команда из Сиднея собралась в 2011 году
для игры против Мельбурна. Участники команды имеют за плечами опыт
работы в театральной студии и участвуют в юмористическом проекте
Comedy Club Sydney.

5. KVN
For the first time, Melbourne will host the inter-state battle of KVN
- Клуб Весёлых и
Находчивых - Club of the Funny and Innovative. It will be held on
Saturday 10th of December
at 19:00 in the centre of our vibrant city at BMW Edge, Federation
Square.
Melbourne's "VVERH NOGAMI" team will be competing against Sydney's
"Shnurki". For the
second time this year, the two teams will be locking horns, in a
grueling battle which is sure to
make any audience laugh. The Sydney team is anxious to prove their
worth after losing by only
0.1 points earlier this year, however we all know which is the better
of our two cities!
The battle will be hosted by the well known Melbourne theatrical
figure - Dmitry Pronin, bound
to keep the teams on their toes. The theme of the battle is 'New
Year', in anticipation of the
festive season. To keep to the true humour of the event it will be
held in Russian, if you have
difficulty understanding... bring a translator.
VVERH NOGAMI (Melbourne)
The team was formed in 2009 in Melbourne and its achievements include
successful
performances at the Intercontinental KVN Festival in London in October
2011 as the official
Australian KVN team. VVERH NOGAMI delighted London audiences with
their enthusiasm,
energy and dynamics. VVERH NOGAMI also participated in "Big KVN" on
Russian
television "Channel One Russia" with their video question to famous
KVN teams of Special

Shnurki (Sydney)
A young but very dynamic comedy team from Sydney. It was formed in
2011 to play against
the Melbourne team. Members of "Shnurki" are involved in theatrical
activities and participate
in humour project "Comedy Club Sydney".

Do you use both English and Russian on a daily basis? I am a PhD
student at the University of Melbourne looking for Melbourne-based
people who speak Russian and English, including a mix of the two, to
give me a few recorded samples of natural language use and be
interviewed about it. The data will be kept strictly confidential and

9. HACC PAG group in Prahran.
RERC is organising a Planned Activity Group for the frail elderly in
Prahran and surrounding suburbs. This group will meet on Tuesdays.
Gentle exercise, balance and strength training, games and guest
speakers will be just some of the fun activities. This group is
targeted to those who can no longer participate in Pensioner Clubs and
long excursions. Transport and meals will be provided. There will be a

If you are elderly and feel isolated, our fun weekly telephone hook-up
(conference call) may be exactly what you need to brighten up your
day. This is especially targeted to those that are in rural and
regional Victoria. We have a few spots available at 10 am and 11 am on
Mondays. No special equipment is required and there is NO cost to

английском языке под названием TARASOV SAGA - From Russia through
China to Australia. Она пользовалась большим успехом и была выбрана
журналом Australian Bookseller and Publisher как одна из 20 лучших
документальных (non-fiction) книг 2002 года. Впервые книга, написанная
русским человеком в Австралии, была удостоена столь высокой чести в

Наконец книга была переведена на родной язык и издана в России
издательством Лики России под названием ПОТЕРЯВШИЕ РОДИНУ - Семейная
Сага Тарасовых. Выпуск книги состоялся в Санкт-Петербурге в
Российской Национальной Библиотеке в Феврале 2011 г.
КРАТКИЙ ОБЗОР КНИГИ
Глава семьи, полковник Белой армии Тарасов, его жена Аида и пятеро
детей пережили все ужасы революции и последующей гражданской войны. В
книге описываются поиски Аидой своего мужа, затерявшегося на
необъятных просторах Сибири, и далее о разлуке с детьми во время
грозных событий и невероятных испытаний, после которых вся семья,
наконец, спасается бегством в Китай в 1922 году.
Новая жизнь начинается в далеком и шумном Харбине но и она нарушается
приходом японской военщины в 1931 году. Последовали суровые годы
мировой войны, появление 'красных' китайцев в 1949 году и затем
массовый исход русских из Китая в лагерь для перемещенных лиц на
отдаленном филиппинском острове Тубабао. Путь семьи кончается в
Австралии, куда они, в конце концов, добираются.
В книге ярко и живо описывается жизнь в 'русском' Харбине и в
иностранных концессиях Тяньцзина и Шанхая. В книге также
рассказывается о том как сложилась жизнь в Австралии в эпоху появления
'новых австралийцев'.

14. Victorian Women's Register - Honouring Victorian women
Nominations for the 2012 Victorian Women's Honour Roll are closing on
21 December 2011.
Minister for Women's Affairs Hon Mary Wooldridge MP is inviting all
Victorians to honour inspirational women by nominating them for the
2012 Victorian Honour Roll of Women.
"If you know an outstanding woman who has been instrumental in making
a difference and shaping your community, this is a great opportunity
to ensure she is recognised," says Ms Wooldridge.
Since its launch in 2001, 478 women have been included on the Honour
Roll. The new inductees will be announced as part of International
Women's Day celebrations in March 2012.
Women can be nominated for their contributions in a diverse range of
fields including health, science, law, social justice, arts, media and
education, as well as their involvement in culturally diverse and
Indigenous communities.
Minister Wooldridge will announce the new inductees as part of
International Women's Day celebrations in March 2012.

15. Former Mayor of Moreland to Lead Victoria's Multicultural
Communities
The Ethnic Communities' Council of Victoria (ECCV) elected prominent
community leader Joe Caputo as Chairperson at its annual general
meeting this week.
Mr Caputo, former Victorian Multicultural Commission commissioner and
former Mayor of Moreland, had extensive policy and leadership
experience across Victoria's multicultural communities.
His priorities for ECCV included advocating for emerging communities
and bridging the gap between government bureaucracy and diverse
communities.
"The Victorian Government doesn't reflect diverse communities in its
employment practices and I want to see more multicultural Victorians
in high profile government positions," Mr Caputo said.
He said multiculturalism should stand for solidarity, social justice
and ensuring resources were fairly distributed amongst Victorians.
"I will continue to build strong alliances with progressive councils,
multicultural agencies, church bodies and artists to further
multiculturalism in this state," he said.
Mr Caputo thanked outgoing Chairperson Sam Afra whose four year tenure
raised ECCV's profile as Victoria's leading multicultural advocacy
council.
A new executive board were also elected at the AGM including Deputy
Chairpersons Marion Lau and Eddie Micallef.

18. Organisational Support Grant Funding
The Office of Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship (OMAC) runs a
Community Grants Program to provide support to Victoria's culturally
and linguistically diverse communities, especially new and emerging
communities, to develop and sustain local community organisations and
programs. The aim of the grants program is to strengthen the capacity
of individuals to manage their own affairs, to participate in and
influence their local communities and to participate in the benefits
available to them as members of society. The program aims to address
the needs of ethnic communities, combat the disadvantages faced by
many of these communities and promote community cohesion and harmony.
