3. A new type of pill organiser.
"Webster-paks" are now available in different languages. Caters for
the linguistic needs of many cultures. The Multi-Lingual Webster-pak
allows clients for whom English is not the first language, to help
with medication. Times of day and days of the week are printed in
Russian as well as 19 other languages. Having this information in
their own language increases the chances of prescribed medication
being taken correctly by people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
Multi-Lingual Webster-pak satisfies a strong need in the community. As
people age, they may revert to their mother tongue. This is especially
so for dementia sufferers.
Medication information is still printed in English. This is necessary
for pharmacy checks and carers. Emergency services staff may also need
this information.

Do you use both English and Russian on a daily basis? I am a PhD
student at the University of Melbourne looking for Melbourne-based
people who speak Russian and English, including a mix of the two, to
give me a few recorded samples of natural language use and be
interviewed about it. The data will be kept strictly confidential and

9. HACC PAG group in Prahran.
RERC is organising a Planned Activity Group for the frail elderly in
Prahran and surrounding suburbs. This group will meet on Tuesdays.
Gentle exercise, balance and strength training, games and guest
speakers are just some of the fun activities. This group is targeted
to those who can no longer participate in Pensioner Clubs and long
excursions. Transport and meals can be provided. There will be a small

If you are elderly and feel isolated, our fun weekly telephone hook-up
(conference call) may be exactly what you need to brighten up your
day. This is especially targeted to those that are in rural and
regional Victoria. We have a few spots available at 10 am and 11 am on

английском языке под названием TARASOV SAGA - From Russia through
China to Australia. Она пользовалась большим успехом и была выбрана
журналом Australian Bookseller and Publisher как одна из 20 лучших
документальных (non-fiction) книг 2002 года. Впервые книга, написанная
русским человеком в Австралии, была удостоена столь высокой чести в

Российской Национальной Библиотеке в Феврале 2011 г.
КРАТКИЙ ОБЗОР КНИГИ
Глава семьи, полковник Белой армии Тарасов, его жена Аида и пятеро
детей пережили все ужасы революции и последующей гражданской войны. В
книге описываются поиски Аидой своего мужа, затерявшегося на
необъятных просторах Сибири, и далее о разлуке с детьми во время
грозных событий и невероятных испытаний, после которых вся семья,
наконец, спасается бегством в Китай в 1922 году.
Новая жизнь начинается в далеком и шумном Харбине но и она нарушается
приходом японской военщины в 1931 году. Последовали суровые годы
мировой войны, появление 'красных' китайцев в 1949 году и затем
массовый исход русских из Китая в лагерь для перемещенных лиц на
отдаленном филиппинском острове Тубабао. Путь семьи кончается в
Австралии, куда они, в конце концов, добираются.
В книге ярко и живо описывается жизнь в 'русском' Харбине и в
иностранных концессиях Тяньцзина и Шанхая. В книге также
рассказывается о том как сложилась жизнь в Австралии в эпоху появления
'новых австралийцев'.
