Unfortunately, the Russian Ethnic Representative Council has been unable to provide a full-time Employment Service for the past three years, since there was a change in government in Victoria, and all the State-based Employment funding was not renewed, and in fact cut from the budget.
Last year, we were very grateful for two members of the community coming forward and volunteering to provide at least some small level of advice and support to Russian unemployed jobseekers. Enormous thanks to Svetlana Tishchenko and Tamara Dmitriyeva; I know from feedback received, that they were a real help.
Currently, we are waiting for the results of an application we submitted to a Commonwealth funding round, that may allow us to again begin to provide this much needed service.
In the meantime, we don't mind receiving resumes of people that are looking for a job, and a paragraph about what sort of work they are looking for. Every once in a while, we do find out about a vacancy from an old Employer contact. Please send to
al...@rerc.org.au (We will not be able to provide any advice or feedback).
Also there is a very interesting Networking Group that may be of assistance for some; please see the text of the email I receive once a month that gives you all the details. You can join their mailing list or just register for one of their events, and give them a try first. Hope someone finds it helpful - let me know how it goes. Good Luck!!
