Have you considered working in Aged Care?

As part of working with other aged care organizations, RERC is proud to offer courses in Aged Care and Home and Community Care at level 3 certification.

In partnership with Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) and Fitzroy Learning Network we are offering the opportunity to gain a nationally accredited certificate in Aged Care.

We are offering an accredited course (one 4 .5 hour session per week) that will qualify you to work in Aged Care:

2.     Computer Internet training

Our formal series of classes for now have been completed. And we are not sure when any future classes will begin. But we still have ten fantastic (easy to follow) Russian textbooks, that you can follow yourselves at your own pace. And the computer room is open on Monday and Wednesday for anybody to come in and use the computers and internet. But please let us know if you want to attend, so that we may arrange for a volunteer tutor to be present, and answer any questions you may have. Please ring the RERC office.

В это воскресенье, 4-го августа 2013 г. о.Андрей Кураев будет на литургии в Св.Покровском Соборе (1-7 Albion St Brunswick East). Начало литургии в 9.30 утра.

За литургией он скажет проповедь, а после службы, в 12.30 дня проведёт беседу на духовную тему в соборном зале.

Для нас – это редкая возможность послушать широко известного, талантливого проповедникa и миссионера.

This coming Sunday, 4 August 2013 Fr Andrei Kuraev will be at the liturgy at the Holy Protection Cathedral ((1-7 Albion St Brunswick East). The liturgy begins at 9.30 am.

During the liturgy he will deliver the sermon and at 12.30 pm after the service he will give a talk on a religious topic at the Cathedral hall.

For us this is a rare opportunity to hear the well- known, talented preacher and missionary.

I will endeavour to translate his sermon and talk into English.

4.     "Бал Царь", 14 сентября

 

"Русское Этническое Представительство штата Виктория" с гордостью представляет 21-й Свято-Владимирский Бал "Царь", темой которого в этом году стало празднование 400-летие основания Дома Романовых.

В далеком 1613 году Земский Собор положил конец Смутным временам, избрав на трон Михаила Романова. Так началась история правления великой династии Романовых, которая на протяжении 304 лет служила России.

14 сентября в торжественной атмосфере банкетного зала Plaza театра "Регент" в честь этого грандиозного события будет дан настоящий бал в духе царской России. Традиционно гостей вечера ожидают живая музыка, изысканный ужин, танцевальная и музыкальная программа, подробности которой организаторы пока держат в секрете... Tsar Ball is the 21st themed ball event organised annually by Russian Ethnic Representative Council (RERC). This year’s Ball celebrates 400th anniversary of Romanov’s Dynasty. In 1613, they searched for a Tsar for All-Russia. At St Vladimir's Grand Ball 2013, we're celebrating the beginning of the 304 year Romanov Dynasty...

5.     Maslenitsa Festival on Federation Square

We can confirm that the Maslenitsa 2014 will definitely go ahead. The Victorian government has seen our efforts and good success, judged that the public are interested in such a Festival and therefore has once again provided seed funding to help with the organization of such a massive event. Start thinking about how to make next year’s Pancake Festival bigger and better. Of course, it is never too early to put your hand up and become a donor or sponsor, as well.

Rousichi Folk Dance Ensemble under the direction of artistic director Alex Ilyin and choreographer Lilia Dutova is announcing:
The invitation for boys and girls to join the character dance studio "Unicorns".
"Unicorns" character dance studio prepares artists to perform in the ensemble of folk dance. It is a principle source of skilled dancers for "Rousichi". Our dance studio trains dancers who master different types of dance at the highest level and practices diverse character dancing throughout different nationalities including Greek, Spanish, Mexican, Baltic, Belorussian, Ukrainian, Moldavian, Jewish, Russian, Middle Eastern and Middle Asian.
The program of study includes rhythmics, choreographic gymnastics, classical dance, folk dance, duet and dramatic skills.

Young "Unicorns" - Boys and girls 5-8 years old
Mondays and Wednesdays 4:15pm - 5:30pm at Russian House, 118 Greeves St, Fitzroy
Fridays 4:00 - 5:30 pm at Toorak College dance studio, Old Mornington Rd, Mt. Eliza

Middle "Unicorns" - Boys and girls 9-12 years old

11.       Russian School in Brunswick

12.       Pilgrimage to Bomballa Monastery

There are still a few seats left on the Bus that will be leaving Melbourne for a four day trip to the Russian Orthodox Monastery near Cooma (towards Canberra), for their feast day “Transfiguration of our Lord”. 14.       Useful information for recently arrived migrants

Did you know that, within the first two years of arriving to permanently settle in Australia, migrants can have key personal documents translated into English, at no cost to them, to assist their settlement into the community? The intention of the Free Translating Service Policy is to support positive settlement outcomes for newly arrived migrants especially in the areas of education, employment and community participation.

Requests for free translation of personal documents from eligible persons may be lodged at select Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) tuition centres which will then despatch them to a translation service provider. Permanent residents, Australian citizens, and certain temporary/provisional visa holders are eligible for the service.

Nominations for the annual Multicultural Awards for Excellence have just opened, and I strongly encourage you to nominate an innovative project or person in the most appropriate category.

If you know of any other person or organisation who should be nominated for one of the awards, please consider sending it on to them - or better yet, nominate them for an award.

20.       Holy Virgin’s Protection Cathedral Annual General Meeting (AGM)

The AGM of the parish and parishioner members will be held at 12.30pm on Sunday 25th August.
