Hi, I recently got a kobo. I can go to overdrive on the kobo itself and download the books directly from there onto Kobo, but how do I get the books I downloaded on my Libby App into Kobo ? E.g I had put a hold on a book & when it was available I borrowed it via the Libby app. How do I get that to my kobo ??
Yes, you you can set up and manage push notifications (for the Libby mobile app) or email notifications (for libbyapp.com). You can get notifications for available holds, expiring loans, new magazine issues released, and more.
Libby is not currently available to download from the Amazon Appstore. OverDrive has requested information and a timeline for approval from Amazon but has not yet received an update. In the meantime, Kindle Fire users can stream ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines in their browser from libbyapp.com
How to add library books to kobo eReader? Can I download library books directly to kobo device? How to fix the issue that the kobo not downloading library books? To get all these questions answered, keep reading.
Before downloading library book to your kobo devices, we have to borrow the library books at first. Let's take the advantage of the built-in OverDrive feature. With OverDrive on the Kobo eReader, all you need is a library card and a Wi Fi connection to borrow eBooks from the library.
Since the built-in OverDrive feature is only available in some area and not all kobo devices. I list them in case your device is not included, or you are not in the compatible areas. Please don't worry. If you are not in this case, please download OverDrive books to computer and transfer them to kobo device.
The built-in OverDrive feature for kobo eReader is only available in the following areas: Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore.
Many newer Kobo models include built-in OverDrive support, but not all kobo devices have this feature. This doesn't mean that you cannot download library book to your kobo devices. Still with the help of Adobe Digital Editions, you can sync the downloaded library books to kobo eReaders.
Step 1 On a computer, go to libbyapp.com. Add your library and card, if needed. Then Sign In With My Library Card. When asked, select your library and enter your Library card number and password.
Please, do not refer me to previous posts or guides because I have followed them already. I need *actual* support. Also I'd like to point out how so many Kobo users have this problem and it would be nice if Adobe, which is our only option to read DRM protected books, fixed a problem that is clearly caused by them. It shouldn't be users coming up with solutions (like in this thread -editions-discussions/kobo-won-t-open-library-book-because-ere... - a solution that worked for a while and now I'm again facing the same issue).
For me it has nothing to do with the app from which I download the books, it happens when I send the book to my kobo using ADE - regardless of the version I use. Basically, if I download a book from overdrive directly to my Kobo, I have no issues. If I upload it from my computer through ADE, it won't recognise my authorisation.
Check here for help with Kobos. Older kobos require some setup. To transfer titles to these devices you will need to create an Adobe ID and download Adobe Digital Editions on to a laptop or desktop. Newer kobos can directly connect to and download titles from your OverDrive account. This greatly simplifies access.
If you have a Windows computer, Mac computer, or a Chromebook, you can use Libby in your web browser at libbyapp.com. We suggest using the latest version of Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge. All Belleville Public Library users can also browse, borrow, and enjoy titles on the Ontario Library Service Consortium's OverDrive website.
I bought a Kobo mainly for Libby and Pocket and have no regrets! I have also bought a couple of cheap books on special through the kobo store, but this is a bit of a rarity as most of the books don't really appeal to me. I pretty much exclusively read non fiction though.
