However with that very same full game on the shelves today, we became a little worried about something else that was being mentioned with regards mag review code. Apparently there was no save feature in the versions being sent out. Judging by the descriptions we've seen, you don't have to start right from the beginning every time you die, but if you ever exit the game then that's that - with publisher Whiptail Interactive reportedly telling publications that a save feature would be implemented before the game hit store shelves on February 27th.

A quietly released Media Alert (dated Tuesday) informing us that MediaMobsters is busily working on a "save game patch" in order "to help gamers get to grips with the challenging and addictive playing experience that is Gangland." Now, while we appreciate that MediaMobsters is a small company and that deadlines and product launches are often rigid guidelines that smaller developers have very little influence on, anybody can see that this a pretty ridiculous state of affairs. This isn't 1994.
Whether we were a bit harsh on the Gangland demo or not, the lack of a save game feature or even a password system - in a game that, in the developer's own words, offers more than 40 hours of solid gameplay - is the sort of failing that baffles us beyond all description.
That letters (R,S, M and A) are the for you to choose what character will be the boss (Romano, Sonny etc). Im now very fustrated, I ended up likeing that there is no save in skirmish becouse that makes you be very precacious but I came from a game where I was with 600.000 money and lots of resourcers, ammunition, med kits and etc. That money was close to infitine already, I have been doing lots of telephone negotiations. Had many gangsters too, and I was going to atack a boss.
And continuing, I was swiming into money decided to atack and I was killing plenty of the enemies, I could kill them fast and should be easy but the AI doesnt help. I was looking for the enemy safehouse and When I got close (I didnt knew yet) some enemies stated to shoot, thre werent many, but all my group died right away. In a few seconds I see my Two Tommy Guns son lost hp has hell and them my boss is dead to, and my girls that was always safe in the safehouse where noone never atack suddenly were all dead. About the group it could have been a Bazuka guy maybe, but I didnt saw any, it was just anoying. I have been killing them all the way. I was enjoying the game very much. Is there was a save I could at least reserch the game, thats the best of saving. I could save before and repeat to see where my mystake was.
I never insisted so much in game like this one. I like the feel of it. Anyone know a way to save? Isent there a hack program to make such a thing? I could try the cheats then to make the boss survive, but I press the "" and it doesnt brings the console how it is supposed to. Cant believe this game is doing this to me.
You can expect to die often in Gangland because the normal difficulty level offers an intimidating level of challenge. The game has a steep learning curve. For instance, right at the end of the first mission, you're asked to start knocking off other bosses and told to walk right into heavily fortified safe houses. All too often, these mission failures are the result of being unexpectedly outnumbered due to police interference or other hard-to-avoid circumstances, like your thrown dynamite exploding too close to your men. It would have been nice to have been able to save a game in the middle of a mission, but for some reason, this feature has been left out of Gangland (though a patch is apparently in the works to address this issue). As it is, if you spend an hour or more on a hard mission and get whacked at the end, you'll have to start it all over. The challenge missions, in particular, seem all but impossible because dozens of enemies are flung at you, and you don't even get a steady source of ammunition to fend them off. The game's default level of difficulty may turn off some potential players, but thankfully, the developers have included three different difficulty settings, which primarily affect the amount of damage your men can take.
