Call for Papers

Fashion, as a concept, refers to much more than the way we dress.
Fashion is a statement, a stylised form of expression which displays
and begins to define a person, a place, a class, a time and a culture.
Fashion, Appearance and Consumer Identity is concerned with the areas
of clothing, historical costume, fashion marketing, branding,
merchandising, retailing, as well as any areas relating to consumption
and consumer identity.
Through the phenomenon of fashion the anthropological changes that
shape an age, can be picked and analysed too.

In November 2009 the Business Science Department, Faculty of Economy,
University of Florence with Moda e Modi and ATTEX Communication &
Consulting organises The Global Fashion Marketing conference that will
be held in Firenze.

Topics

PLENARY SESSIONS:

- The Post-Modern Fashion Consumer: new requirements and new
relationships
- Fashion Communication and the consequent life style definition
- Design, Creativity and Innovation in Fashion

The conference is a deliberately informal gathering of researchers,
teachers, students, and practitioners concerned with research and
teaching. The conference emphasis is on a high level of interaction,
discussion and debate in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

You are invited to submit abstracts related to the Topics and dealing
with the following areas:

- Antropology and Sociology in Fashion
- Innovation in Fashion Industry (Ethical fashion, strategies,
products, communications, distributions)
- Fashion brands ( e-marketing, product identity and brands,
communication strategies )
- Fashion trade ( trade marketing, visual merchandising, communication
strategies )



Please note the following important dates:

- Abstracts due : 22 July 2009

- Successfull authors notified by e-mail : 30 July 2009

- Post format for registration: 30 July 2009

- Final papers : 15 October 2009

- Registration : not later than 15 October 2009
