Dear Vesta users,
I stumbled upon VESTA a few weeks ago and am very happy I did.
I do have a question (perhaps it is a feature request?): is it possible to export a crystal shape (by this I mean the shape as defined through Edit -> Edit Data -> Crystal shape, not the atomic positions) to a format compatible with 3D tools (such as Blender)? This would be a great feature to have, for multiple reasons. For example: our lab can make use of a 3D printer, it would be great if it was possible to easily print out crystal shapes, just by defining the outer lattice planes. It would also allow rendering of assemblies of nanocrystals within Blender or other programs.
Though I don't know much about 3D models, I reckon it would not be too hard to implement this feature, since the program is already able to display the crystal shape in 3D, thus it must already be able to build-up a 3D model. This model would only need to be exported to a compatible format.
Kind regards,
