can't open VASP CHGCAR

Hello,

I am running Vesta 3.1.2 on Mac OS X 10.8.2 (desktop system).  On this system, Vesta doesn't allow me to open a CHGCAR file --- as in, the CHGCAR file is not highlighted so I cannot select it to open.  If I try to drag and drop it in, Vesta freezes indefinitely with no error messages.

On my MacBook (OS X 10.6.8), I am running Vesta 3.1.0.  For this version, I can open the same CHGCAR files without a problem.  Has this feature been disabled - or is it something specific to our (my colleague is having the same issue) systems?

Dear Krista,

Thank you for reporting.

As you pointed out, on Mac OS X, VESTA does not allow selecting files
without extensions in a file dialog.
This is due to a bug introduced in recent version of wxWidgets toolkit.
I will search for a solution for this problem.

For the meantime, please drag and drop files from file manager to the
graphic area of VESTA.
Or, associate CHGCAR files with VESTA and double click the file to open it.

Thank you for the response.  When we drag and drop the file, Vesta doesn't load the CHGCAR, freezes indefinitely and doesn't allow us to do anything further.  We can only get out of Vesta at that point by "Force quitting."  As the same CHGCARwill open on a different OS X running a different version of Vesta, we weren't sure if the issue was the OS X or the newer version of Vesta.  Is there any way we could obtain a DMG for Vesta 3.1.0 to test the issue?

I have the same problem with opening CHGCAR file in VESTA 3.1.2 on both Mac mini and MBA (using Max OS 10.8.2). Luckily, I still have a backup of version 3.1.0.

VESTA 3.1.3 is out today. All bugs mentioned here are fixed for me. Thank Koichi-san very much for fixing this wonderful software very fast.
