I am also still having the exact same issue. I see that Nan had reported the same thing on January 24, but there are no replies yet so I figured I would comment as well.
I have hunted for all past threads on the issue and none of the suggestions made therein were able to solve the problem. The /User/user/Library/Application Support/VESTA/ directory does not exist on my computer.
I would appreciate any help anyone may be able to offer. I previously used VESTA without issue on a Windows machine, but am now having this problem when trying to run VESTA on a Mac.
