Will Vespolina support Doctrine ORM?

... is the intent to focus on Documents to the exclusion of Doctrine ORM, or is ORM support intended as well?

Not everything about a store is necessarily a better fit for Documents.

Also, the audience might be much wider if ORM support existed, me thinks.

Hey,

 

For now we do focus on mongo as primary document store but we've setup Vespolina in such a way that it's easy to add a different storage layer. 

As a matter of fact the Cart Bundle has already partial ORM support.
