I'm asking because Medium won't allow me to embed a full story map into a post, so I'm hoping to be able to take the story map as a file and upload it that way. I also don't want to go through the complications of hosting, editing code, etc. Thanks!

There's not a way to download a completed story map to a file like that and reconstitute it. The closest we have is that you can print a Story Map Cascade or Story Map Journal to a PDF file. If you want to host a story map on your own server, it is pretty easy: you just download the source code into a folder on your server then add the ID of your hosted story map app in ArcGIS Online into the index.html file. The maps, data, images etc used in your story map all remain hosted in ArcGIS Online: your server just has an instance of the source code. But if you can't embed a hosted story map in Medium, then self-hosting the story map would I think give you the same result, and wouldn't let you embed.

In this case I would just not embed the story map. Story maps have to be embedded in quite large frames to be usable. Instead you could add screenshot to your post and link to the story map in a different tab. That gives readers the best experience because your story map will fill their display.

Currently testing running storyline applications from Sharepoint. After I publish to web, I open the file and convert the .html file types to .aspx, and then upload all files to a sharepoint document library.

By default, SharePoint doesn't let you host content that can include scripts (like active server pages). You will need to work with your SharePoint admin/global admins to enable custom scripts for this content to render properly.

In this episode of the Sub Club podcast, Rootd founder Ania Wysocka shares the secrets of how she managed to take her panic attack and anxiety relief app to over two million downloads with no outside capital and without hiring a single employee.

In fact, Ania hit a snag when paying a contractor for her ASO strategy. All keyword experimentation takes some tinkering, but higher traffic keywords with less relevance for your app can do much more harm than good. In the worst-case scenario and as Ania experienced, this strategy might even tank downloads. Instead, Ania found that the sweet spot was opting for highly relevant keywords with lower search volumes: The early users who discovered Rootd were at least partially responsible for its rapid growth.

You can save Instagram stories from the app if you are the author. Click on the three dots in the upper right corner, select Save from the dropdown and get the photo or video in the gallery right after. There is not the same feature available to download other people's Instagram stories on the platform. To do that, you will have to apply third-party services that provide stories downloading in the original quality and resolution.

The Story Downloader from Inflact saves stories with audio by default. If the original fragment contains music or sound, rest assured to have them on your device. The only limitation is the inability to save any audio separately from the visual part. The tool treats the entire story as a single unit, and no detached MP3 or JPG parts are allowed to be downloaded.

Since the downloading process is approved only for the entire fragments, no audio or visual parts can be removed from them. It is not possible to save a photo or a video without a text if it is present in the original story. However, the tool saves without watermarks, so no additional text elements will be included.

Up until 2013, all Spatie projects were made using a custom-built CMS that was powered by Zend Framework 1. In2013, we transitioned to Laravel, which was at version 4.0 at the time. We were immediately impressed by theexpressive syntax and the big focus on developer happiness of Laravel.

At that time, a lesser-known guy named Jeffrey Way started his next project,Laracasts: a video tutorialsite dedicated to Laravel. We realized that his videos could greatly accelerate our learning process andimmediately bought a lifetime subscription.

At the time we were working on a project that needed to automatically create screenshots of a website. With thethings we learned on Laracasts, we started to work on our first package: Browsershot. This package was essentially just a simple wrapper around PhantomJS (the current version uses Headless Chrome and Puppeteer).

Back when we used Zend Framework, we used a custom-built application template, called Blender, to kickstart allour clientprojects. Think of it as a very basic CMS. Besides traditional CMS features, Blender could do a lot of coolthings:pull in data from Analytics to show graphs about the usage of the site; handle uploaded files; subscribe usersto a MailChimp list and more.

A lot can be learned while creating a package. Each package needs to be carefully crafted. It provides clear andunderstandable syntax. Like Laravel, we want all our packages to put a great emphasis on developer happiness. They should be easy to use. They should have great documentation. They should have clear tests. Thinking abouthow other people will use your code will make you a better developer.

The issues reported and the PRs submitted by the users of our packages provided another chance for learning.People can point to mistakes that are in our packages and can propose interesting new features that we didn'tthink about.

Of course, we're also dogfooding ourselves. Our packages get used on most projects. If we discover a bug in apackage used in a project we can very quickly fix that and distribute that fix through the power of Composer toour other projects.

There are also commercial benefits. In recent years, we've landed some cool projects thanks to ouropen-source work. This shifted our focus to working for international companies, including some well-knownones. These new clients often already use our products and packages.

The simple truth is that it does take up a lot of time. Creating the code for the package itself, writing tests, writing documentation and publicizing distribution all require quite a bit of attention.

A big way for us to keep our open-source work manageable is the way plan our week. Each week, we plan foronly four days ahead, leaving one day flexible. This day isn't fixed; its time is spread out across the week.

On this fifth day, everyone in our company can work on open-source projects or their own tasks. Though one daymight not seem like much, when done consistently each week for many years, it adds up to a significant amountoftime. We've been following this approach for open-source work for around a decade now.

Although packages are reviewed by other team members and everyone helps each other, it is the primaryauthor who does most of the maintenance work. At Spatie, we are fortunate that staff turnover is very low andmost of the people who wrote a package are still with our company.
