How to Activate Adobe Products Offline
If you have purchased a single license for an Adobe product, you can install and activate it on two computers. However, you can use it on only one computer at any given time. To install and activate the product on a third computer, you must deactivate it on one of the first two computers.
Most Adobe products require an internet connection to activate and register them. However, if your computer is temporarily or permanently offline, you can still activate your product using the offline activation method. This method involves generating a request code from your offline computer and a response code from an online device. You need your product's serial number and an internet-enabled device to complete this process.
In this article, we will show you how to activate Adobe products offline using the example of Photoshop CS6.
Step 1: Generate a Request Code
The first step is to generate a request code from your offline computer. Follow these steps:
- Launch Photoshop CS6 on your offline computer.
- Follow the installation or product launch screens until you see a link that says "I cannot connect to the internet" or "Having trouble connecting to the internet". Click the link and follow the instructions on the subsequent screen to initiate offline activation.
- You will see a screen with your serial number and a request code. Write down or copy both numbers. You will need them in the next step.
Step 2: Generate a Response Code
The second step is to generate a response code from an online device. Follow these steps:
- On an internet-enabled device, go to [this link].
- Sign in with your Adobe ID and password.
- Enter the serial number and the request code that you obtained in the previous step.
- Click Generate Response Code. You will see a response code on the screen. Write down or copy the code. You will need it in the next step.
Step 3: Enter the Response Code
The final step is to enter the response code on your offline computer. Follow these steps:
- Return to your offline computer and launch Photoshop CS6 again.
- You will see a screen where you are prompted to enter the response code. Paste or type the response code that you obtained in the previous step.
- Click Activate. Your product should be activated and ready to use.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any problems during the offline activation process, here are some possible solutions:
- Make sure that your computer's date and time are correct. An inaccurate system clock can cause activation errors.
- Make sure that you are connected to the internet on the device that you use to generate the response code.
- Make sure that you enter the serial number and the request code exactly as they appear on your offline computer. Do not include any spaces or hyphens.
- Make sure that you enter the response code exactly as it appears on your online device. Do not include any spaces or hyphens.
- If you get an error message that says "Activation limit reached" or "Maximum activations exceeded", it means that you have already activated your product on two computers. You need to deactivate it on one of them before you can activate it on a third computer.
- If you get an error message that says "Response code is invalid", it means that either your request code or your response code is incorrect or expired. You need to generate a new request code and a new response code and try again.
