Thanks for the fast turnaround. I did a quick test and API requests
are returning a response.

Sounds good. If there's a FishNet2 issue site, that would be great,
otherwise we'll just submit issues via email.

Well, hmm, we're all setup here with VPN, so getting access should be
pretty easy for Tulane. Maybe?

So for us I think seeing the entire source repository is of interest
since it's hard understanding code when you only have partial access.
Does that make sense? For changes, let us know if you prefer SVN
patches or complete source code file updates.

Well, we definitely don't mind seeing code in a process of
refactoring. In fact, it's really good timing since we may be able to
share ideas on architecture stuff while changes are being made.

I can definitely see us making contributions, but I think we also want
a peak at the code. We're hoping to see where some overlap between
FishNet2 and VertNet architecture occurs, which will open the door to
possible code or spec reuse, especially WRT to APIs and client/server
interactions. Thoughts?

No problem.

Here's the link to the vertnet-developers list. I think they'll need
to subscribe themselves since Google Groups no longer supports adding
users directly.

Perfect. So it looks like I'll need ASP.NET installed to run this
locally? What does your development environment look like? I'm running
Ubuntu Natty (11.04).

Excellent. Is your list of enhancements available to see? It might
help us zero in on specific areas while looking through the code.

Definitely.
Perfect, thanks for the links.

Rad. What's your current thinking about design for getting points on the map?
> There are also some behind-the-scenes enhancements we want to do, including

Yeah, we were working on VertNet paging stuff today. What database are
you guys using? Does it support cursors? On App Engine we ended up
using cursors (instead of integers) for the 'offset' parameter for
paging. Before the change, API requests required about 8 RPCs and a
few hundred milliseconds. Now we're seeing 4 RPCs max under 100
milliseconds.

Sounds good. Once I get the asp.net environment running, are there any
dependencies on the FishNet2 backend that would prevent the front-end
from spinning up?
