I took the TOEFL HE about a week ago and got the result of it today. And the score in the writing section is 15, which is lower than that that I took two years ago and I can't believe it (or perhaps don't want to). I know you may well think that my writing skill is impaired or could be much worse than before.
But the thing is that I know I've literally fulfilled a certain required length for both integrated and independent tasks, and, in fact, succeeded in writing about 300 words long, following each paragraph as shown in the reading passage, changing some words so as to avoid repeated words in the integrated one, and accomplished about 400 words in the independent one as well. After the long exam, I even thought I did a pretty good job, but the upshot jut turned me off of it. So I thought back on my situation during the time and came up with reservations that I couldn't click a "continue" button to follow the independent task at the very end of the integrated timelimit. At the moment I got concerned that it wouldn't be considered finished.

1. Integrated Writing Task
You will have 20 minutes to write your Integrated essay. Before you start writing, you will have to read a passage and then listen to a lecture. The reading passage is approximately 250-300 words, and you get 3 minutes to read it. In the reading passage, the author will make 3 main points about the given topic with supporting details. Next, you will listen to a lecture about the same topic from passage you just read. This audio clip is typically 2-3 minutes long. The lecturer will give 3 opposing or counterpoints to those made by the author. He or she will also state their supporting details for these counterpoints. You have to write about what the lecturer says about the topic using information from both the reading and listening passages.
