Historically, runners who beat their qualifying standard by a larger amount of time are more likely to be accepted into the Boston Marathon. Due to field size limitations, as well as a heightened interest in participation, a varying "cut-off" time (a time below the minimum qualifying standard for age and gender) has been established. Below is a list of when entrants needed to obtain a faster time than their minimum standard in order to be accepted into the race:
With 2024 being our second year featuring non-binary entrants, we do not yet have enough data to establish non-binary qualifying times. Therefore, we will use the times listed below, as they are inclusive of the qualifying times for the two existing divisions. As we prepare for future races, participants can expect non-binary times to be updated accordingly.

When AP makes a race call, we back it up with transparent reporting into the research and analysis that led us to say with certainty who has won. This explanatory journalism is as much a hallmark of our coverage of U.S. elections as the race calls themselves.
For many years, AP was part of the group of media organizations that conducts exit polls. AP left the group after the 2016 election, in part because we no longer believe interviewing voters at polling places on Election Day is the best methodology to survey an electorate.
AP may also decide not to call a race if the margin between the top two candidates is less than 0.5 percentage points. On election night, AP may not call winners in races for state legislature if the margin is less than 2 percentage points or 100 votes.
If an election has significant news value, such as one that would determine party control of a state legislature, AP will closely review the race to determine whether an exception to these guidelines can be made.
We do not use a statistical model that examines the vote count and other data nationally to predict which party will ultimately take control. Instead, we just count: race by race, seat by seat, all the way up to 218 and to 51. Only then will AP say definitively which party will lead each chamber in the next Congress.
In several states, recounts are mandated if the margin between the top two candidates falls inside a set range established by law. In others, recounts may be requested if the margin falls inside of a set range. In others still, candidates can request a recount regardless of the margin between the top two candidates.
For example, this happened in the 2020 presidential election. AP declared Joe Biden the winner in Wisconsin even though he led by less than 1 percentage point, a margin that under state law allowed President Donald Trump to request a statewide recount.
The Peak series was created by ultra-athletes who wanted to turn coal into diamonds. To do that they developed a series of insane ultra-endurance events here in central Vermont. We believe that completing these races will change your life.

The Arts Festival Races are the oldest races in Central Pennsylvania. First run in 1975 as a 10 mile race, race organizers added a 5K event in 2005. The 10-mile and 5K events will be held in Boalsburg at the PA Military Museum as the 46th Sue Crowe Memorial Arts Festival Races on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Important time change for 2024: The 10-Mile race will now begin at 8am, and the 5K race will begin at 8:45am. They should wrap up before the Arts Festival booths open for the final day of the festival at 11 am back in downtown State College.
The races are named in memory of local running legend Sue Crowe. In addition to being a runner of note, Sue gave back to the running community through her work coaching young competitors. Sue and her family were fixtures at the Arts Festival races, and she was a repeat race winner at both 10K and 10-mile distances.
The UltraSignup newsletter will let you know about races in your area, past and future. We will not spam you only inform you about the cool stuff happening in our sport. The newsletter will be sent monthly and likely the first week of the month.
Enjoy the thrill and competition of participating in endurance events from triathlon to trail running. The majority of people do not enter these races to win, but to set a personal goal and achieve it. The following races are produced by The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department.
The Woodlands Township's races benefit and help fund programs and services offered through The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department. The Woodlands Township Recreation Center was constructed in 1993 to serve The Woodlands through programs, promotion of health and well-being of residents and visitors, and to provide a facility that did not limit involvement due to cost. Since then, The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department has served the community through recreation program scholarships and promotion of other not-for-profit groups.

Race is a categorization of humans based on shared physical or social qualities into groups generally viewed as distinct within a given society.[1] The term came into common usage during the 16th century, when it was used to refer to groups of various kinds, including those characterized by close kinship relations.[2] By the 17th century, the term began to refer to physical (phenotypical) traits, and then later to national affiliations. Modern science regards race as a social construct, an identity which is assigned based on rules made by society.[3][4][5] While partly based on physical similarities within groups, race does not have an inherent physical or biological meaning.[1][6][7] The concept of race is foundational to racism, the belief that humans can be divided based on the superiority of one race over another.
Social conceptions and groupings of races have varied over time, often involving folk taxonomies that define essential types of individuals based on perceived traits.[8] Modern scientists consider such biological essentialism obsolete,[9] and generally discourage racial explanations for collective differentiation in both physical and behavioral traits.[10][11][12][13][14]
