When you use Dark Mode, you can display documents in TextEdit with a light or dark background. In TextEdit, choose View > Use Dark Background for Windows (a checkmark indicates the dark background is being used); to turn it off, choose the command again (the checkmark is removed). When you view documents in TextEdit using the dark background, some text and background colors may be displayed differently on the screen to ensure the contents of the document are legible.
TextEdit is the simple and easy to use text editor for Windows that allows you view and edit HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, PERL, SQL, Delphi, C, C++, and other languages source code. It is a advanced tool supporting the features you've always dreamt about, such as tabbed document view, syntax highlighting, bookmarks, unlimited text size, line numbers, find and replace, find in files, multiple undo/redo, drag and drop files.
This situation arises from the fact that you are viewing your text through a small window, and TextEdit is attempting to print the contents of that window on your printer so that the printed page looks like your window. That's one kind of WYSIWYG. To get the kind of WYSIWYG you want, expect, and are familiar with, simply:
you need to convert your file on text edit, to simple instead of rich text. You do this by going to format, and looking for the simple text format, and select it. Then when you save the file, next to what ever name you use for it put .htmland de-selecting the option that says that it'll automatically be a txt file if nothing else is selected.
Note that if Text contains a variable, any changes in the variablevalue once the element have been shown will not be reflected in thevisible contents of the text box. The reason for this limitation is thatthe user can change the text box contents by typing at any time so it is not possible to track where the variable contents should be, or even ifthey are still there at all.
In Ubuntu 22.04 the minimal installation is for machines where no human is logging in. And they really mean it! You are not supposed to ever login. Only automated tools are expected, which of course do not use visual text editors. Indeed, it was quite surprising because in previous Ubuntu versions the minimal installation meant that no regular users are logging in but a few interactive programs were still installed for sysadmins. Not for 22.04.
According to the list of installed packages posted here, there is no other text editor. As far as I understand, the minimized setup was originally intended for cloud instances, in which they have internet access by default. So if you want a text editor, they would expect you to install it yourself.
The rich text editor controls can be reached by standard keyboard navigation methods. Ensure the editor has focus, then navigation control information can be accessed through a modal by pressing ALT+ 0 or by referencing the guide below.

The Emacs text editor is a common editor on Unix systems, and beginning users often find it easier to learn than vi, which is found on all Unix and Unix-like systems, such as Linux. The Computer Science department recommends that students have a basic understanding of using emacs to edit text files; however, they may want to try using Vim (a more powerful variant of vi). Both Vim and Emacs are powerful text editors; though it is universally agreed that Vim is harder to learn at first, but a skilled Vim user can edit text faster than a skilled Emacs user. However, the most important thing is to use the editor that feels right, as Vim and Emacs have two fundamentally different design philosophies.
Since this update when we use the text editor it adds HTML code instantly. But in a lot of instances we don't want the code to be added. For example we make use of the personalization blocks and before the update the code would look like this:
