After searching for countdown timers, to use in OBS, I found out how to create my very own. I am not using a browser source, like apparently many others do. I create a video of the appropriate length to be run on my own system.

So, how do I create these timers. The background image is created using Canva or Inkscape. This depends on if I want to create a quick use background with a Canva template or create one from scratch using Inkscape. Save it in PNG.

Import the PNG into Shotcut, put it on the timeline and stretch it to the amount of time you need. Go to filters and add the timer filter. It has several settings you can play with. Ensure that the direction setting is Down.

Countdown timers are animated gifs served in your email at the time of opening, displaying the time remaining until a set end date. For example, you can show a live countdown to an event such as the beginning of a sale or a product launch!

Countdown timers are located in the Personalize section of the Litmus platform. From the Personalize tab, select Timers on the left side. Here, you can create a new timer and find any timers you've already created.

NOTE: All timers count down in maximum increments of 30 seconds from the time of open. At the end of 30 seconds, the timer will stop counting. Timers are specifically built to perform this action to ensure they remain lightweight email components.

Add a fallback image or custom text. This will ensure that if the countdown timer expires or if it is impacted by Apple Mail Privacy Protection, your email recipient will still be able to see a visual of your choosing.

If your timer is set up and ready, select Next: Save and get HTML to generate your tag! You can copy the tag using the button below the text box, and your new timer will appear in the Timers section of the Personalize tab in your account.

To add a timer to your email, simply copy the HTML tag for your Timer and add it to your email's code. You can quickly copy the tag by hovering over the timer's thumbnail and selecting Copy HTML.

You can also add a timer with Visual Editor in Litmus Builder using the image link from the HTML code rather than the entire tag. Copy the image link and add it in Visual Editor to replace a placeholder image with your timer.

Countdown timers default set up includes a transparent pixel for subscribers who have MPP enabled to ensure they are not served a blank or static timer image. You can opt to include an alternative message or upload an image to replace the timer when you set it up. MPP-impacted opens will count towards impressions usage.

Hello I am trying to make a simple script which on key press x starts a timer of 45 sec after that when it reaches 10 sec color text changes to red and when countdown comes 0 I want to destroy the timer gui but not the program, and when i press x again program starts doing stuff again and repeats the process

As you used wm_attributes('-transparentcolor', 'white') (but you never set the background color of root and the timer_display to white, so it don't have effect) and overrideredirect(True), that means you want the window totally transparent and borderless. However this has side effect that you may never get the window focus back after the window loses focus.

Yes, the intention of this timer is to be as clean and simple as possible. As for changing the seconds, you can do that in the EXTENDED version or in the APP, which also has some other extra features. Tnx for your comment!

As for suggestion, we might implement it in the future. For now, maybe you can try this:
1. Add an extra monitor besides timer, there you can type something using word processor, or use some appropriate program for typing messages
2. Make timer smaller (use ESC to exit fullscreen display), adjust the size of timer and then use a the other part of the screen for messages to the presenter.

My only suggestion is that when the timer is reset with the Delete key that it would go back to the previously set time as almost all of our talks over two days were 15 minutes in length rather than the default 10 minutes. But it is easy to increase/decrease the time so that was only a very minor inconvenience.

Hi and thank you. I dont see a problem here, if I understand you correctly. On one monitor you will be running a full screen timer and on other (extended desktop) monitor, you have your presentation. It is allready being done like that on numerous TEDx presentations, as it was on ours. Best

I currently use the Apimac timer for my Anatomy lab exams because of one feature it has. It can be set to make a sound then automatically reset and start counting down again each time it finishes a countdown cycle. There are a number of things I do not like about the product, but that feature works and is necessary for my application. Does you timer have this feature? If so I would be interested.

Hi Steve, thanks for your comment and suggestion. The Nano version of the timer uses a very similar function to this, where the circle changes color not the numbers. This way it is visually more appealing. Best

Hello I was trying ti find a desktop background type count down timer which can be pushed to some 800 employees computer centrally. (The timer should be displayed on desktop background and will not affect users files, folders and other work. Pop up etc are sometimes annoying so was trying to find desktop background based timer.

Hi Mary, thank you so much for your kind comment! Yes, you get extra features in the PRO version you can get here: -timer-pc-mac/. You can purchase more than one license at a discount price. Thanks again and all the best.

Hi Igor. I just found you timer and it really looks impressive. However, I want to know whether it can be included in a Keynote presentation. I need the timer to appear on a slide for activities during class.

Hey Igor, Awesome timer! Thank you very much! I use it at our startup pitch events.
Is there a way to reset the timer to a previously set position => our pitchs are always 7 min. long. When I reset the timer it always goes back to 10 min.
Am I missing something? Thanks a lot!

Sorry for the late reply, missed the comment.
1) yes
2) to do this you will need another timer, where you can run multiple instances at the same time and it supports what you need: -timer-pro-sale
Hope this answered your questions. Best

Is there a way to have the countdown timer always display over any screen? I have minimized it to the way I need it but just want it to always be on top while I work. Thank you and this tool is absolutely amazing 10/10 would recommend.

Countdown timers are animated gifs served in your email at the time of opening, displaying the exact time remaining until the set end date. For example, you can show a live countdown to an event such as the beginning of a sale or a product launch. Create your template, then use your design in your countdown timer campaign mailing tag.

NOTE: Countdown timers cannot have transparent backgrounds. For best results, match the background color to your content where the timer will be embedded. If it is part of a larger image, create your timer height as small as possible and use an image slice for the background to fit in the overall image.

To align all of the blocks, use cmd+click to select each one and the alignment menu will appear below the canvas. When your design is complete, use the eye icon above the canvas to preview your timer. Select Save at the lower right of the editor to save your template.

Here, you can customize each block to indicate seconds, minutes, hours, or days, select whether or not to show leading zeroes, or create a circular timer. See below for more information on the advanced formatting options available here.

You can use a Litmus Personalize timer on your website. However, it is important to know that each page hit would count as an impression. If you have a high volume of traffic to a page, you may see more impressions than you expected.

Unfortunately, it isn't possible for the timer to count down to the local time based on the open location of the recipient. GeoIP functionality is used to detect the location and then apply a time. However GeoIP technology isn't 100% accurate so we can't rely on it more closely than a country level. Some inbox providers, like Gmail, mask location entirely.

GIFs are limited to 256 web-safe colors. If your background image contains more colors like in a gradient, when your image is generated into a gif, the clarity is lost. Colors are matched to the nearest web color leaving a pixelated image. Make sure your timer design includes web colors and keep the overall image size relatively small for best results.

When a presenter is on the stage or in the studio, they need a countdown-timer to stay on time. If this is all they need, it makes sense to ust have a confidence-monitor with a timer on the stage, like this:

2. The perfect placement of the countdown inside the confidence-monitor depends on what other video-content is shown. For example, if you switch between powerpoint-presentations and a camera-feed, you may want to change the position of the video-overlay as the day progresses

In this article, we show examples of both PIP and lower third: When we the countdown is a fullscreen output that is just made smaller, we can call it PIP. When we also remove the background-colour and only show the countdown in the left or right corner of the screen, we can call that lower third.

So we want to have a countdown-timer on top of the other video-content, and combine the sources through a video-switcher or software.
We then need to move the timer-window where we want it, and remove unwanted elements from the window. Normally, you only want the countdown to be shown from CueTimer, with or without the background colour and border.
