AboutSoRR and the Xbox version:
SoRR was released in 2011 by Bomber Games for the Pc. This amazing remake combined all the Streets or Rage games into one game adding hundreds of new features and upgraded graphics. SoRR has alternative routs with a total of 103 stages and 19 playable characters that you can unlock while playing the game.
When the final version of SoRR was released it did not take long before SEGA contacted Bomber Games and asked them to remove the game from there servers. Eight years of work for Bomber Games to make this amazing remake, just one week for SEGA to stop it. But thankfully its still possible to get if you look around on the net.
First you need to connect your Xbox to your local network and start a program on your Xbox that have and Ftp server enabled, im using XBMC. Then you need to connect to the ftp server on your Xbox from your pc with and Ftp client, im using the free client Filezilla.
When you have connected to the Xbox you need to browse your way to where the games are placed. For me its F:Games (it might not be the same folder on all Xbox versions, so you need to find it yourself) and just create a folder called SoRR like this: F:GamesSoRR
First you need the Xbox SoRR files that where created to make the actual game work on an Xbox. The original file is called xSORRv5.zip but a critical bug was detected in this version that crashed the game after beating a boss, and this was fixed in an update. So its better for you to search for the updated version called xSorRv5_Update1.rar on google
Unlock everything!
SoRR also has many cool stuff bonus stuff to unlock in the game! When playing the game you earn points that you later can spend in the shop section to unlock new characters, cheats, modes and more!
I already had a savefile on the Pc version that I had been playing. So I simply transffered this savefile to my Xbox version of SoRR, but that totally messed up the gamepad mapping for the Xbox version. And as the mapping is really strange in the Xbox Port it took me quite a while to fix this, but now its done and works great! So if you want to play the game with everything unlocked here is the savefile:
the file needs to be copied to the savegame folder. But remember to make a backup of the savegame.sor file that already is there, just rename it or something.
Hi Sable! Try following my guide, and if you need help i can give you some support! Both the game and the patch are free so i cant take any money for it. But i can try giving you some support and help installing it. Send me a mail
therm...@gmail.com if you have any questions
Thats a strange problem. If you are able to connect to the Xbox you should be able to copy stuff to the Xbox. There might be some places on the Xbox structure where you cant copy stuff to.. try testeing to copy the game to another partition or folder. what application are you running on the xbox to get the ftp access? maybe try some other application? im using the built in ftp server that comes with Xbmc, but other works well to. Try testing different apps.
Also try to copy games FROM the xbox to your computer? does that work? Im sure that there is some problem with the access to the hdd of the xbox or some other ftp related problems. try testing different methods and try to figure out whats wrong. and filezilla should work fine!
Streets of Rage Remake is an unlicensed Windows remake of the 16-bit Streets of Rage series. This side-scrolling fighting game borrows material and sprites from the three original games to offer a completely new game. Next to familiar locations and enemies, there are also new moves, characters and backgrounds, more colours, different scroll layers, and 34 original music tracks remixed for this version.
The story picks up one year after Streets of Rage 3. Zan discovers a new crime organization that plans to take over the city. As he cannot tackle it alone, he contacts Blaze, who gathers all available help to face this new threat. Zan suspects that Barbon's bar is a cover for illegal arms dealing, and the team starts its investigation there. You can take on the story mode on your own, with the help of a CPU player, or cooperatively with another human player. Certain moves are only possible when two players work together. There is also a battle mode for one-on-one duels. Three more game modes can be unlocked later on: Survival (fight an endless stream of enemies until you run out of health), Flag (hold a single flag as long as possible), and Volleyball.
There are six characters available, from the three series combined: Axel, Blaze, Skate, Max, Zan and Adam, and two unlockable secret characters. The story is told through still images with dialogs. Most of the moves will look familiar, although a lot of new ones have been added as well. There is a button to attack, another one to jump, a third one to launch a health-consuming special attack, and a final one to have the entire screen bombed by police back-up. Attacks can be combined into combos, with over 20 moves per character.
The game can be fine-tuned with a colour editor for the characters (unlockable), and various options such as team damage, the combo and jump type (both were changed in SoR3), the death type, the use of guns, a time limit, a difficulty level and the amount of lives. The game contains 43 locations with multi-path splits and 52 different enemies. Other extras include an image and movie gallery, a cheats screen, various unlockable secrets, and four different endings based on the chosen path.
they took elements from SoR 1, 2, & 3, to create a great experience; the characters are badass, the gameplay & control is tight, the look is greatly redone, & the replay factor is thru the roof, due to a gangload of alternative paths you can take [paths are both visible & secret on the v4 version. try to find & fight 'Cody' before the Ballpark elevator 0_o ], & the cash you earn each time you flip the game [cheats FTW!].
& the soundtrack? oh my damn! the remade/remix'd bgms are simply amazin' [i'm in the process of rippin'/kuttin' the soundtracks for v4 & v5, & i'll have'em both posted/available for download here soon, if demand is high enough that is.....].
there's an autosave feature that takes place at the beginin' of e'ry stage & sub-stage in the game that you go to [i.e. 1-2, 1-3, 4-1, etc.], but the only way to use it is if you exit the game usin' alt+x. when you restart the game up, it'll load at the beginin' of whatever stage you were last on [good for havin'/abusin' 'do-overs'], with whatever your status was enterin' it, sans any weapon(s) you had upon entry. it must be done usin' alt+x tho, cuz if you just quit the game from the start menu, it won't work.
-if you choose to use a cpu partner, the best 1s to roll with IMO are Max & Adam, especially Max. Max's strentgh is very handy, & his stamina ensures that he'll be by your side for a good minute before he dies off.
Axel & Zan are too damn'd aggro, while Blaze & Skate's staminas are too thin, so they die off quickly, & you'll be fendin' for yourself, with now twice the amount of enemies, before you know what happen'd. Skate & Zan are also almost always in a hurry to move forward, which can lead to you missin' alot of item/weapon pick-ups, & dealin' with some waves of enemies/bosses waaaay before you are ready to. & all 4 of'em, more often than not, suffer from severe cases of "the stupids" [especially Skate & Zan], which can/will lead to occasionally gettin' stuck on a point of a stage, thus bein' forced to reset it over again.
also, the 4 of them are greedy. as. phukk. they won't hog health, but they will gank items [bandanas, jewels, etc] all day, which isn't good for you, seein' as how that phukks with the amount of end-game $$ you get, which you need to unlock the items in the shop & all. you've been warn'd.
A Spanish developer, who only goes by the internet handle "Bomber Link", spent the best part of a decade meticulously recreating Sega's Megadrive brawler from scratch. "It does not use reverse engineering nor a single line of code from the original games. It's all based on visual interpretation," Link says on the game's website.
The Streets of Rage Remake project, released online for free earlier this month, mashes all three beat 'em ups into one monstrous hybrid fan-game. The final project contains over 100 stages, 19 playable pugilists, 64 enemies and a full 76-song soundtrack remixed by five different musicians.
But just days after the file was released on various download and torrent sites around the web, Sega has stamped down on its release and is trying to get the game pulled. Their first port of call was Link's own downloads on the game's forum.
"Sega have contacted [me] regarding the download hosted on this site," Link writes. "While this issue is being resolved, please do not upload the game for others to download. Any links posted on this site will be removed."
In a statement, emailed to
Wired.co.uk, a spokesperson from Sega said, "Sega is committed to supporting any fans that take an interest in our games, and where possible we do so by involving them in Beta tests and other development, marketing or research opportunities."
The game's release wasn't a surprise, of course. Link and more than 20 collaborators have been toiling away at the game since 17 March 2003, and its lengthy, Herculean development has been widely publicised in the eight years since. On the site's FAQ, Link says the crew even notified Sega, long before the game's release.
Spending years on fan-made remakes and tie-ins is always risky business, legally. The developers of online Pokemon battler Pokenet got served with a cease and desist notice from Nintendo in 2010, and the same publisher killed off fan-made Zelda movie The Hero of Time the year before.
Some studios are more lax on the subject than others. No surprises that benevolent PC publisher Valve has turned a blind eye to Black Mesa Source, an eternally-delayed shot-by-shot remake of the original Half Life in the new Source engine.
