Has anyone else experienced the following issue, which seems to happen to some users: A notification/message arrives triggering a pop-up window and the message icon next to the user ID. The RSS feed also shows a new message. However, the inbox shows as empty, regardless of filters and other attempts to unhide any messages there. The message icon continues to indicate that there are unread messages, but the inbox always shows as empty. Any playing around with other preferences didnt yield results. I personally have 2 user IDs, only one of which displays this behavior. They are both admin users. Some regular users have the same issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rene

Yesterday I would have said no... but today I am seeing this myself.

I got an alert, and I closed it. Then I changed my mind and clicked
the envelope (which has a tooltip saying I have 17 messages) next to
my login name... what? no messages in my inbox!

I'm using build: 8.2.2435.0 (hosted).
Also, I previously had "Notify via Email", "Show Notification Icon",
and "Enable Active Alert" all checked. I have since disabled "Notify
via Email". (could that be related?)

I know support has been working on this issue. I will forward this in as well.

Hello all - we have an update on this issue -

We apologize for the inconvenience. We have determined what the
problem is. We have logged a bug, and we will be working to get this
fixed and released just as soon as we can.

Note - if you have the icon - the admin user does, in fact, have
messages. If you go the the "My Home"/"My Work" page and select the
admin user in the "Owners" drop-down list, then view "My Inbox" again,
you should see the messages.

The "Owners" drop-down list should not affect "My Inbox".

We appreciate you using VersionOne.

Regards,

A point of clarification: if the Owner drop-down on the My Home > My Work page is set to anyone other than yourself, the My Inbox page will be incorrectly filtered to that individual, so you will not see your messages. To correct the situation, change that drop-down to your member name, then go back to the Inbox.

Once this is fixed, will we need to upgrade to a patched version to
get the fix? Or will those of us on a hosted version be automatically
fixed?

Hosted instances have point-release updates applied to them automatically, generally during the weekend after the point-release is made available.

If you are a hosted customer, your instance will be patched with the
fix.

If you are a local customer, you can simply go to Downloads from the
Community Site to pick up the latest point release that contains that
fix.

I noticed this morning that this bug was auto-fixed on my instance...
thanks V1! (I'm a hosted customer)
