How to recover deleted stories

I don't know how common this type of scenario is, but sometimes
duplicate stories are created in the backlog, and when the user goes
into remove the duplicates, sometime the wrong story is deleted by
accident. I'm surprised that Version One has no way to recover
deleted stories. The deleted story also is hidden from view in recent
changes, so there is no way to even copy the informatin into a new
story.

You can do a quick search for the item... then turn on the "show
closed items" filter to make it appear. From there you can click and
open it and copy/paste what you need out of it.

Also, as the admin of my company's installation... I have a feed set
up to monitor for any deleted stories. It happens so rarely, so it is
easy to monitor. When something doesn't look right, I talk to the
person who did it. I also have a rolling record of the last week's
deleted stuff if I ever need it.

Afternoon-

Maggie, I sent a similar question in where I've run the API
query and have the XML that defines the story. Could the API support
making a change to the magic attribute that would bring the story back
to the "living"?

It doesn't currently support this. I will forward the request in to the product team. I'm pretty sure they've got some type of "undo" feature in their request list already.
