I just got the Flex box yesterday and it's not all bad. It's very responsive but not being able to organize your apps is very basic. And as someone else mentioned 'my list' should be at the top of the page. I can live with it as the voice feature gets me there but I like being able to use the onscreen page to move around as do many people.

Flex offers entertainment from more than 250 OTT services, including all the most popular subscription-based apps such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max,Peacock,Paramount+, Discovery+ and Disney+ alongside tens of thousands of free choices from Xumo Play, Pluto, Tubi and more.

While the Flex has does have streaming apps like Netflix on it, the Tablo is not one of them. It likely never will be part of it either, since I doubt Comcast wants an option for local channels other than a subscription through their own service.

Been having an issue with the MLB App on the Xfinity flex box since August 2. It shows me "It looks like MLB App isn't working right now. This may be due to a problem within the application. Please try again later. Error Code: APPS-04035"

I have talked to many Xfinity customer service reps, all who tell me to "unplug the box" or "restart the modem", which hasn't made any difference. They even sent me to the Xfinity store to get a new box. Got the new box, MLB worked for one day, and then went back to this error. I cleared cookies as well, but no luck. You can't uninstall apps from the Flex, so that's a dead end too. Just called MLB customer service to see if they care to do anything about this, but don't think they have any clue. I know other people online have had this issue but seems like no one has a solution. Very frustrating.

It offers voice-command capabilities on its remote, streams in 4K and has a user-friendly search function that makes it easy to find content available across all apps. Those are functions that stack up well against a Roku or Amazon Fire TV device.

Xfinity Flex allows customers with or without smart TVs to access all of the top streaming apps, like Amazon Music, Apple TV, NBC, Peacock, Hulu, Spotify and Amazon Prime Video. It can be connected via WiFi or directly to the Xfinity modem. When customers receive their box, all they have to do is connect it to the Internet and plug it into their TV via an HDMI cable.

Flex can be a great way of accessing your favorite on-demand TV streaming services. It puts all of your apps in one place and offers many of the same features as streaming devices like Roku. However, unlike Roku, Xfinity Flex gives you the ability to control some of your Xfinity Internet service features as well, such as your WiFi connection and parental restrictions.

Another perk to using the Flex streaming box is that you can stream music and access hundreds of free channels using apps like Tubi, Pluto and XUMO. If you want additional boxes, all you have to do is request them from Xfinity or visit your local Xfinity store.

Xfinity Flex is a great on-demand streaming service you can use to consolidate your various apps. You can access Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Pluto TV and many others from a single device. You can even stream music using Pandora, iHeartRadio or Spotify apps.

But while the Flex has a number of good features, such as voice search and integrated smart home controls, it needs a lot more. As you'll see in this Xfinity Flex review, its incomplete selection of apps (something it continues to chip away at) will be a problem before it can compete with the likes of Roku and the Amazon Fire Stick as one of the best streaming devices.

Getting the Flex up and running was easier than starting up other streaming devices I've used. After I plugged it in, the Flex automatically found and connected to my home Wi-Fi network, with no input required from me. I was expecting to at least have to type in my password. After that, it was just a matter of logging in to my respective streaming apps.

For those who don't want to scroll through lists of shows, Xfinity's voice search will prove very handy. Press and hold the mic button on the remote, and you can search by title, actor, genre and more, and the Flex will search across all of your installed apps. Within the results screen, you can also filter results by video quality (SD or HD), whether or not it's free, and if there's a video description or SAP. Voice search worked well but the results were not without their quirks. For instance, "Westerns" is not listed as a genre, and for some reason, Fifty Shades of Grey is listed as a romantic comedy.

While it has Netflix, Amazon Prime and the premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, Epix), the biggest failing of the Flex is its extremely limited number of apps and content partners. For example, there's no Disney Plus and no AT&T TV Now, but the service added Sling TV and Spotify in the months that followed its release. CBS All Access won't be available until later in 2020. Hulu also took a little extra time to get to the Flex, but it's there now.

As this Xfinity Flex review has shown, while this device has Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, that's not exactly enough when you consider the thousands of apps available on Roku and Amazon's devices. Yes, those cost as little as $30, but by comparison the Flex is far, far behind. But you can't argue with free.

"Xfinity Flex gives customers a radically simple, aggregated television experience that personalizes their streaming choices across a sea of apps and services," Xfinity Services Executive Vice President Matt Strauss said Wednesday.

Amazon says X1 marks the first pay TV partnership for IMDb TV. The move follows the release of standalone IMDb TV apps for Android and iOS earlier this month. IMDb TV is also available on Roku, Android TV devices, Xbox and PlayStation consoles and some smart TVs, as well as Fire TV and as a channel in the Amazon Prime Video app.

According to Comcast, XClass TV will offer consumers an affordable and innovative smart TV with an integrated interface and voice remote to access their favourite live and on demand streaming content from hundreds of apps and services. The first XClass TVs from Hisense are available this week in select Walmart stores and in the coming weeks through Walmart.

In the coming months, streaming apps from Xfinity and Charter will launch on XClass TV, joining the multichannel streaming services already available on the platform including Hulu + Live TV, YouTube TV and Sling TV, giving consumers more options to stream live sports, shows and news directly on the TV.
