---- About VITA ARTS
Vita Arts is a non-profit organization committed to sharing the transformative power of art with the disadvantaged and emotionally distraught. Those handling recent loss, terminal illness, war and homelessness are a few examples of the populations we seek to expose to the restorative nature of creativity in artforms.
Artistic expression promotes healing, self discovery, and provides an oftentimes essential outlet for articulating and releasing difficult emotions in times of adversity. Art created through the process of using artistic expression to cope with crisis serves as a great inspiration and motivator for others, furthering its positive effects and endurance.
We support artistic expression as a creative motivator, a pathway to healthful coping practices, and an everpresent reminder of the power and strength of the human spirit.
We do this in three ways:
1) Teaching empowering artistic skills of expression to those in dire situations, both children and adults.
2) Providing opportunity for workshop graduates to tell their stories through themed showcases for the public.
3) Vita Arts performance productions.
Plans for the future involve outreach with other non profit organizations, including disaster relief, and expanding this important work to other parts of the world.
