Hi

My name is Jon, I'm interested in developing a solution where Zimbra
sits in an NVS equivalent partition on a foundations box. I was
wondering whether you could help?

I have installed your versadebian and logged onto the environment - I'm
not much of a Linux man and wondering what I would have to do make a
Zimbra package that I could distribute on foundations.

Much appreciate some pointers / collaboration

thanks
jon

Hi Jon,

I haven't done any work on versabox in quite a while; since they
changed the pricing of Foundations and removed some of my favourite
Nitix features, I had to drop it as a realistic deployment platform
for my and my company's projects.

However, it's good news that you were successful in installing
versadebian; that's most of the effort actually. Did you try building
versadebian from the source, or did you only download the binary
version?

To make a new Zimbra installer, you'd basically take the versadebian
install, install Zimbra on it, and then repackage it back up. Not
really that hard, depending how much stuff you want to automate, how
much you want to customize it for each end user, and so on.

You will definitely need some Linux skills (or to find a person with
some Linux skills :)) in order to build the custom package, however.

Please let me know if you have any specific questions I can help with.

Have fun,

Avery
