Whenever I try to open zoom up in a window or try to download it, a popup appears saying that I should switch out of S mode or get similar apps in store.... I'm not sure how to do this, or what it means. I have a HP windows laptop and am unsure how to resolve this. Could anyone please help?
Windows "S" mode is a secure operating mode most home pcs are shipped with these days. It prevents installing apps that do not come from the Windows store. Here are some instructions from Microsoft on how to disable S mode. Keep in mind once you turn off S mode you can not turn it back on.
so how does one proceed within S-mode. After allowing permissions for microphone and/or video, I still receive a message saying my browser won't allow microphone access. My understanding of Zoom Rooms is that the meeting host needs the Zoom Rooms. But, what if the participant is Zoom Rooms and the host is not?
Hello, I am having a very frustrating issue where Zoom is crashing my Windows laptop consistently. I've reinstalled Windows 10, turned off HW accelerate but still happens. Zoom becomes somewhat unusable. This must be happening to someone else?
Does my CPU and HW configuration have anything to do with this? I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro laptop with the AMD 5800H CPU and with Radeon graphics and 64GB of RAM. I am running on a high performing SSD.
Many times, I've rebooted, started Zoom only, then it crashed with in one minute of joining a Zoom meeting. Nothing was connected this time. This that this was pretty much with a fresh Windows 10 install.
Before I reinstalled Windows, I was running Virtualbox and each time I plugged in my Android USB device, I got the BSD, though most of the times I was not on a Zoom call. Do you think that even though Zoom is not on a call, that will still cause a BSD?
I found out I am running 32 bits!!! Looks like Zoom changed their default option when I compare the default on Zoom's website to this video. I will upgrade to 64 bits.
One observation, though: 32GB of RAM. Haven't tried to remove one slot to leave one half yet - I need memory for my day-to-day work, but that's a possibility. Would people with plenty of RAM respond to this - together we might nail the prob...
I was on yesterday with Windows support for an hour yesteray fixing all kinds of errors that were happening when zoom starts up, and blah blah blah. Got on a zoom last night, 10 minutes in, blue screen of torturous death! Makes me so furious because I have put so much time into reporting the stop codes when they come up, trying to troubleshoot, and nothing works! I seriously have to make sure someone else is cohost as soon as I get on a zoom, and I try to share as minimal as possible. It seems to only do it when I am the host. Never happens when I am in someone else's meeting.
I am having the same issue and it is so frustrating. Last night I was leading a virtual class with only 20 minutes remaining and got a BSD. Every time I tried to log back into zoom afterwards I immediately got a BSD. 4 times in a row. I had to rejoin from my phone and it was terribly embarrassing. People are paying to attend these classes so I need a resolution badly!
I had an incident where my CTRL key was stuck and the mouse wheel was adjusting the zoom level of my Windows 10 desktop. I would like to reset the zoom level back to its default, but CTRL-0 doesn't seem to work on the Windows desktop. I have no way of knowing (besides eyeballing) if my desktop is back to the default zoom level when I adjust it. Is there any way of resetting it to the default?
I also thought that CTRL + 0 wasn't working to reset to 100% zoom ... but it is only when I use the 0 key on the extended keyboard that it fails, using the 0 key one main keyboard (above P) that it resets to 100% ... I'll just need to get into the habit of using the main number keys instead of the small numeric keypad that I am so used to.
I just switched from Mac to Windows. On my macbook I used to be able to zoom and pan using pinch and two-finger motions on the touchpad of my laptop, but on my new computer this is not working. I don't know if it's relevant, but this new laptop has a touchscreen. I found some other threads discussing a similar issue for an earlier version of indesign, and supposedly this was resolved a while back. However, running the latest version I am not able to use my trackpad as desired and it's quite frustrating as this is my preferred way of working. Is there a setting that I can change to fix this?
I'm a Mac user so I can't speak directly for Windows. But if you go to Edit > Preferences and click on the Interface section at left, you may find an option to "Enable Multi-Touch Gestures". Not sure if you have this on Windows or not but this might help. Can you use pinch and zoom in other programs on your computer?
Hey. I had this same problem and it was infuriating me. I fixed by ticking this box. Though it might have now broken zoom when using a mouse (cant test right now), the touchpad now does pinch to zoom.
I urge you to try to make the windows experience comparable to the Mac experience when working on a trackpad and no mouse across Illustrator, Indesign, and Photoshop. Perhaps it's easier on Mac for coding reasons, but as a Mac user in the past, simply allowing pinch to zoom and more control over pan sensitivity would drastically improve my experience.
I had a very difficult time finding a solution for this. I opened a call and PTC said Windows 10 wasn't a supported configuration. Fortunately a curious co-worker discovered the fix. Not having zoom with the scroll wheel was a show stopper for me. Here's how to make it work as before:
If you are having trouble zooming in Creo with mouse wheel go to control panel>hardware sound>mouse and click on the "Wheel" tab and set the option in the vertical scrolling area "one screen at a time" this solved my problem.
ZoomIt is a screen zoom, annotation, and recording tool for technical presentationsand demos. You can also use ZoomIt to snip screenshots to the clipboard or to a file.ZoomIt runs unobtrusively in the tray and activates with customizablehotkeys to zoom in on an area of the screen, move around while zoomed, and draw onthe zoomed image. I wrote ZoomIt to fit my specific needs and use it in all mypresentations.
The first time you run ZoomIt it presents a configuration dialog thatdescribes ZoomIt's behavior, let's you specify alternate hotkeys forzooming and for entering drawing mode without zooming, and customize thedrawing pen color and size. I use the draw-without-zoom option toannotate the screen at its native resolution, for example. ZoomIt alsoincludes a break timer feature that remains active even when you tabaway from the timer window and allows you to return to the timer windowby clicking on the ZoomIt tray icon.
Zoom frequently releases updates, but your Zoom app doesn't update itself automatically, so manually check for and apply updates regularly (do the update in the app not at stonybrook.zoom.us). If you have issues updating Zoom, create a ticket.

May I please introduce a problem which I am having? I am using Rhino 3 and have been for over a decade. I have replaced my computer several times. When I started using Rhino I loaded it on Windows XP, and now I use it with Windows 7. I have a problem which has shown itself off and on each time I load the software on a new computer. The problem is with the dynamic zoom when I roll the scroll wheel on my mouse.
My preference is that when I use the scroll wheel, the zoom will go directly to the spot where my cursor is, but often after reloading the software on a new computer, when I zoom with the wheel it goes to whatever is in the center of the viewport. It is very frustrating and adds time to my projects.
Is there anyone who had experienced this problem and found a remedy?
Could your problem be related to this:
Apparently in combination with ICloud software decimal input can be a problem:
McNeel Forum After importing mesh from STL I can't input numerical values with decimalMaurizio, can you please try the test command TestDecimalPointPrintingAndScanning Like all test commands,it will not autocomplete What result does that give, if any? Hi Lene- in the current service release candidate, please try the testDecimalPoint command (renamed in the latest to the shorter name) You can get the service release candidate automaticallt by setting the 'Update frequency' in Options > Updates and Statistics page to 'Service release candidate'.
I still have the issue - I can't change the Scale Factor to whole numbers, 1 does'nt work, as established above, 2 turns the direction of the zoom to the opposite of what I'm used to. Secondly the zoom jumps in to large steps ... I'm working with Rhino 5,0 ... Hope someone can help - it is taking me to much time to work like this

I used to use ZoomWin: -scripts/ZoomWin for toggle between one and multiple windows in Vim. But this plugin has one big issue. When I`m trying to restore multiple windows(vertical split) there is about 2-4 sec delay.
I try to use vim without any plugins as I don't want to rely on them when I work on another system. Coming upon this same issue now, I can propose some 'better ways' (alternative ways) as requested by the OP:
The ZoomWin version 24 introduced saving of window-local variables. When I've tried it out, I found the performance unacceptable, probably because of the various other plugins that I have installed and which install various event handlers.
