Celebrate in Madison on Tuesday, April 27th, 2010
Join us for drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the High Noon Saloon from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, Award presentation at 6:00

The Wisconsin Community Fund Outstanding Grantee of the Year Award will be presented to Freedom, Inc. Freedom, Inc. challenges the root causes of violence, poverty, racism, and discrimination in low-income communities. The people who are most affected by these issues must have voice, power, resources, and choice, in order for true social change to happen. Freedom, Inc. received $7,000 through the Fund’s 34th Grant Cycle.

The evening will be emceed by Matt Rothschild, editor of The Progressive magazine.

Celebrate in Milwaukee on Thursday, April 29th, 2010
Join us for drinks and international hors d’oeuvres at the Public Market from 5:00 to 7:30 pm, Award presentation at 6:00

The Jack Rosenberg Award for lifetime commitment to social justice will be presented to David Lerman. David Lerman is one of two Milwaukee prosecutors who serve as Community Restorative Practice Coordinators for Milwaukee Public Schools. David is especially proud of his work in Milwaukee Public Schools, which allows him to advocate for real change. David has presented workshops on Restorative Justice in the United States and has conducted trainings for the Israeli Ministry of Justice.

The Wisconsin Community Fund Outstanding Grantee of the Year Award will be presented to the Good Jobs and Livable Neighborhoods Coalition. The Good Jobs and Livable Neighborhoods Coalition promotes responsible economic development policy and practice through civic participation and community organizing. They envision equity in regional development and an economy that works for all. Good Jobs received $7,000 through the Fund’s 34th Grant Cycle.

The evening will be emceed by Paul Nannis, former Milwaukee Health Commissioner and current healthcare advocate
