The online application uses the latest official NOAA ENC data to create nautical charts with customized scale and extent, which can then be downloaded as PDF files. The data on the chart is presented in a manner similar to traditional paper nautical charts, showing soundings, buoys, beacons and other aids to navigation, compass roses and the like.
The most noteworthy change is the addition of the Personal Chart Catalog functionality, which allows users to save their charts to an exported Chart Catalog file. Users can then recreate a chart or multiple charts repeatedly as NOAA releases ENC updates by uploading the file in a new session of the NOAA Custom Chart in their web browser. The Chart Catalog file is small in size and can be emailed easily as an attachment, allowing users to share with print vendors or collaborate with others. NOAA is working on enhancing its Chart Updates website to allow users to upload the same Chart Catalog file and check for updates to their custom charts.
Custom chart PDFs created for letter or legal-size paper can be printed on a home printer. PDFs for large format charts may be sent to one of these companies for plotting or printed through other commercial print shops.
The 2023-2024 Rise Challenge application period is now closed. Rise has named over 300 Rise Global Winners since inception and looks forward to welcoming up to 100 more later this year. If you're new here, you can sign up to subscribe to the Rise Global Community newsletter.
Each application year, Rise invites 15-17 year olds from around the world to participate in the Rise Challenge. Unlike many traditional applications, Rise uses videos, projects, and group interviews so applicants have multiple opportunities to showcase their potential. For applicants without access to technology, we offer an alternative paper application pathway.
Rise finds promising young people and provides opportunity as they work to serve others throughout their lifetime. We understand that economic barriers are not the only challenges that keep exceptional people from serving others throughout their lives.
Rise Global Winners hail from around the world and demonstrate brilliance in a range of disciplines. Some may excel in STEM fields, others may show outstanding artistic ability, and others may have a gift for community service and organizing.
Up to 500 Finalists will be selected to participate in a series of activities and interviews. These applicants are further evaluated by an additional review panel that selects up to 100 Global Winners.
However, everyone who completes the application will have the opportunity to become part of the Rise Global Community. You will have access to a network of peers, learning resources, and additional opportunities from Rise partners around the world. Throughout the application process, you will build professional and personal skills, learn how to tell your story, and develop your portfolio with a significant project.
We encourage you to carefully consider your choice of submission format. While you are able to switch later by sending a request through our support team, doing so may mean that you lose your initial responses.
Both video and text formats have length limitations, so think carefully about what you want to say. Videos must be a minimum of 30 seconds and a maximum of 5 minutes. Text responses must be a minimum of 250 characters and a maximum of 1600 characters. You can record or upload a video. We recommend watching your video after completing it to make sure that you captured it fully.
You could create a piece of music, art, performance, or film; develop a new product, software service, or business; build a social or political movement; create a body of research; or anything else. We encourage you to think of creative ways that your project could benefit your community.
Each project review will be a compilation of the five videos or written responses that the peer has produced. This is a total of fifteen videos. Be sure to allow yourself time to provide a thoughtful assessment.
We ask that you review one another with integrity. Not only are you on your honor to do so, but we are looking out for reviews that negatively target other participants. We've implemented measures to help detect and correct for biases to ensure that no applicant will be affected because of unfair or unreliable peer reviewers.
Eligible applicants that complete a Profile become eligible to join the Rise Global Community on Discord to meet other community members, participate in activities and workshops, and share ideas about your project. Participating in the Rise Discord Community is optional, but strongly encouraged.
You are encouraged to download a printable version of the questions that can be used to work offline. Research your answers, formulate responses, and develop your project, then come back online to update your application.
While Rise provides general information and answers questions related to the logistics of the application process, Rise does not have any representatives that help applicants with their Rise applications, and Rise does not collect any funds whatsoever in connection with the application process. You should never pay anyone claiming to be a Rise representative and you should never pay anyone to help you with your application regardless of how they identify themselves. We ask that you report any such solicitation by contacting safeguarding@risefortheworld. org.
Elicit does not currently answer questions or surface information that is not written about in an academic paper. It tends to work less well for identifying facts (e.g. "How many cars were sold in Malaysia last year?") and in theoretical or non-empirical domains.
Elicit searches across 125 million academic papers from the Semantic Scholar corpus, which covers all academic disciplines. When you extract data from papers in Elicit, Elicit will use the full text if available or the abstract if not.
Elicit Plus is Elicit's subscription offering, which comes with a set of features, as well as monthly credits. On Elicit Plus, you may use up to 12,000 credits a month. Unused monthly credits do not carry forward into the next month. Plus subscriptions auto-renew every month.
Elicit uses a credit system to pay for the costs of running our app. When you run workflows and add columns to tables it will cost you credits. When you sign up you get 5,000 credits to use. Once those run out, you'll need to subscribe to Elicit Plus to get more. Credits are non-transferable.
You can email us at [email protected] or post in our Slack community! We log and incorporate all user comments, and will do our best to reply to every inquiry as soon as possible.

If you are unable to attend your polling place in person on Election Day, you may be eligible to vote by absentee ballot. To vote by absentee ballot, a voter must request an absentee ballot application from your County Election Official. The County Election Official will send a paper absentee ballot to the voter. The voter then completes the ballot and returns it to the County Election Official.
