I don’t
usually use this email to promote the activities of other groups but VSP has
been part of
350vt.org’s efforts to call attention to climate change and has
supported VSP so I want to alert you to a press conference this very
collaborative and grassroots organization is having this Wednesday at 10 am to
announce the Fossil Fuel Freedom Campaign. The press conference will be in the
Cedar Creek Room and I will be attending. For more details go to their web site
at
www.350.org While there look at the banner
on the right and you will see a badge for reducing carbon emissions by taking
our pledge to live more sustainably. It is pretty neat that our little volunteer
organization with almost no budget is there with major organizations having
large staffs and million dollar budgets. Thanks so much to each of you for
making this possible.
If you do
go to the press conference and would like to chat over coffee or tea before or
after I always love to talk about what is going on regarding the environment and
population. Just let me know.

And
speaking of what is going on there has been and continues to be quite a dialogue
going on on the Transitions Vermont blog page with even out of staters getting
involved.
This all
started when someone responded to board member Mark Powell’s letter in Vermont
media about the world population reaching seven billion and famine almost
certainly going to be a result. In the letter Mark just briefly mentioned that
the U.S. needed to reduce immigration to a sustainable level and it sparked what
I would call a nasty response by a couple of people who can’t be objective about
the issue. Congratulations Mark for your very time consuming follow up.
Hope to see
you at the state house!
