VSP Annual Appeal

Dear Vermont Populationist – and some of you who don’t live in Vermont as well,

 

I am writing to ask you to please donate towards our annual operating budget for 2012, which is pasted below. Being an all volunteer organization our budget is only $900 but it is still essential that we raise at least this amount if we are to function. There are only a relative few of us who recognize that population growth is the primary cause of our environmental problems and many of our social problems so your personal donation is extremely important.

 

It has been another great year for VSP.  Among our accomplishments:

• We published the ground breaking scientific report Vermont Environmental Trends: The Population Connection. This was a tremendous amount of work but we did it for only $1,200!
• Our Replace Once mugs were given out to dozens of people from all over the world and to many people here in Vermont.
• Fourteen based Vermont organizations have now put something on their web site about population be it a link to our web site, our badge about reducing carbon emissions by taking our pledge, a few sentences, or an entire page. We probably have more state organizations that have linked to a population site than any other state in the country and the only state to have a coop provide a link! See the links section of our web site.
• Endow-Bio, a national environmental fund raising, organizations has picked VSP as one of five organizations to be the beneficiary of the fund raising for this year. While I ask that your main contribution be to VSP it would be great if you could also donate a small amount, even $5-10, to Endow-Bio.org and then vote for us to be a recipient of all of the funds raised.

 

We have two major goals for this year. One is to show a shortened version of the outstanding movie Hooked on Growth by Growthbusters.org in at least ten communities in Vermont. We also hope to find someone who could do a YouTube video on Vermont population growth and would be willing to do it for a relatively small amount of money.

 

I urge you to please send us a donation of any amount.  It all helps.  Please make checks payable to VSP and mail to POB 1163, Montpelier, VT 05601.
