The Montpelier Gun Club Vermont has experienced devastating flooding. The club was able to remove the Pat Traps on Sunday but the club house and trap houses were inundated with flood waters from the Winooski River. The shot curtain and/or the poles are also likely damaged but they will not know until the flood waters recede. If you’ve never shot at this club you’ve miss out on good people who love shooting trap and go out of their way to host a good shoot.

This will likely be a financially devastating event for the club without assistance since insurance will likely not cover the flood loss.

Please consider donating to help rebuild the club. Please makes checks payable to the Montpelier Gun Club and note your donation. Mail to Box 664, Montpelier, VT 05601. This is the address of the VT Trapshooting Association. Remember “There go I but for the grace of God.”

Montpelier Gun Club Update RE: Don Whiton

Things looking much better today than yesterday. It had been reported at one point in the storm the water was up over the top of the clubhouse. There will be much work to be done once we're able to get in there.

NCSC (Williston) Beat the Heat 5 Stand - Saturday 7/15/23

Our next NSCA registered 5 Stand shoot will be this Saturday 7/15/23, where we will have both a 100 target main event and a 50 target 12ga "Fluff" side event.

We're hoping for a break in the rainy weather, but we'll have you under cover for at least the main event either way.

Registration has again been strong (thank you for the support!), but we do have some early afternoon spots left. Registration is being handled through Score Chaser at the following link:

In addition to the competition, Art will be manning the grill serving lunch and we will have a 50/50 raffle. Also, PAY ATTENTION TO THIS ONE, we will be selling pints of homemade raspberry ice cream as a fundraiser for the club. This stuff is seriously good! Bring a cooler with some ice and take home a pint or two while supplies last.

VT State Shoot Info (Sporting Clays)

August 3rd– August 6th 2023

It's hard to believe we are less than two months away from this year's VT State Shoot. We will again be hosting the four-day shoot at the Northeast Kingdom Skeet & Sporting Clays Club in Burke, VT. We look forward to seeing you all throughout the summer at our registered shoots, our first being this Saturday. We're working hard to make improvements for your shooting experience.

Attached you will find the registration and info packet for the 2023 Vermont State Shoot. Online registration is available on ScoreChaser.com and I encourage you to sign up there.

If you are unable to, please return the enclosed form no later than July 28th. Please be sure you complete your squad info for the Main Event.

We have a few campsites available along with water to fill your tanks and a dump station.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns and would like to reserve a spot.

Visiting Canada

Passport required (driving or flying) or Passport Card (Driving Only) or enhanced state driver’s license (driving only) required to re-enter the USA.

A stop by USA customs to list your firearm on a Form 4457 is required. Can be done at any time, to include the day of your trip. If you happen to live near an airport that does international flights they can complete your form at any time. The form is good forever, unless it's no longer readable. The form allows you to re-turn with the firearm to the USA without hassle. They do need to see the firearm(s) when completing the form, just don't bring it in the building unless directed to do so.

Canada allows long guns and ammo to be brought in for 60 days on permit, cost $25 (Canadian) for the permit (credit card accepted). Paperwork completed on the day of the crossing at the border. If you already have the form filled out (except signatures) it will speed you along.
