Good Afternoon Captains –

Here is an update to let you know what is happening with regards to the ice.  We did not lose any ice during the “January thaw”.  We are holding steady with six inches of ice.  The good news is the “January thaw” helped the overall ice conditions.  The Ice Crew is getting ready to start plowing the inch or so of snow that fell this morning.  As soon as they have completed plowing they are going to start flooding again.  With the temperatures  plummeting the next few days and based on the long range forecast we are very optimistic VPHC will be played as scheduled.

That being said safety is our number one priority. We will be measuring the ice and making the call on Tuesday 1/22.  If anything changes dramatically in the next few days I will send out an update.

Keep doing your ice dances and we will see you soon!
