lily pad beetles

Kyle Jones turned me onto these beetles that occupy lily pads on the pond called the Pogue at the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller NHP here in Woodstock. I waded out to them and shot some macros of them. They are all over the white lily pad pads and seem to be courting at times and copulating. I have a series of photos at the location of this link:

Would anyone be able to tell me what these are or at least what group they are? Fascinating insects. The act sort of like tiger beetles, fly almost as fast, but not as shy of the camera. And they stand sort of upright like tigers.

These photos are wonderful! I think the beetle is in the genus Donacia.
