The Vermont Atlas of Life at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies (VCE) is seeking volunteers to participate in the Second Vermont Butterfly Atlas.
The Second Vermont Butterfly Atlas is a five-year initiative (2023-2027) aimed at updating our knowledge of butterfly species and populations in Vermont. In just the first two years, dedicated volunteers have discovered three species never before recorded in the state and contributed nearly 23,000 butterfly observations. Participation is easy—volunteers can sign up online using our Survey Block Mapper, collect and submit data with the eButterfly.org app (similar to iNaturalist or eBird), and access resources and support through our website, VCE staff, and the Vermont butterfly community.
