As I mentioned in my other post, I am very interested in handling our wastewater onsite.  I came across this video of Michael Mobbs' house in Australia:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NQ0BC4m48wY&t=308s

Jump to 3:50.  Mobbs has a wastewater system that he is able to reuse the water to flush his toilets.  According to the vlogger in the comments section, "...the system is basically a mix of compost beds and filters. At the beginning, worms do the major digesting of kitchen and waste solids. Then the water exits from the bottom of the compost beds where it goes through some filters before it can be pumped back into the house to flush toilets, wash clothes and water the garden."

I'm curious if any of you have been able to reuse the filtered water to flush toilets.  Can you share your setup.  Thank you.

I use a toilet-top sink to wash hands as the tank is refilled, so the low-flow toilet tank holds that very light-grey water. So vastly easier and cheaper than reusing treated septic. It is such a duh (has been used in Japan for generations) that I don't get why all flush toilets worldwide aren't made that way.

Earthships in Taos NM also treat wastewater to reuse in toilets. A lot of unnecessary work in my opinion... it is true that the toilet needs a bit more water than I need to wash my hands, but the incremental difference isn't worth the huge investment, to me...

Australia also has commercially available code-approved vermiseptic.
