I have worked in opengl for quite a while now, but have been interested in learning how dxr Ray tracing works, which would require me to learn directx 12. Is it a good idea to start learning dx12? Or should I learn older versions and then learn the differences later? How much of a difference is there between dx11 and dx12?
Ive been scrolling through the subreddit and majority of the opinion was that directX 12 is better than performance mode, especially on higher end PCs. I'm using performance right now and just wanted to confirm if i should switch over with my specs.
I thought godot 4 was supposed to have directx drivers, and the w4 donated a bunch of stuff to help with it. I understand godots not a big corporation just wondering what's going on with that. Would be really cool for xbox releases
Running on dx11, I'll be able to play the game just fine for a little bit, but after a time it'll freeze up and show a "Fatal directx error has occurred" with what I assume is an error code after it. It seems to happen the most when some sort of effect is going on. I.e. Holy or a special boss laser or something.
