I'm trying to print a pdf from Adobe Acrobat by clicking the kebab menu in the top right and the options available are Safe to PDF and All printers. When I click all printers > add printer, a window opens to use an enabled service. Brother Print Service Plugin is there but can't be selected and reads 'cannot add printers'.

I've gone to my phone's settings >connected devices>printing, and I see the two above mentioned print services say 'On'. Go into Brother, it searches for printers but never finds anything. Ditto for Default. How can I get the services to find the printer? Printer is on, not asleep, both printer and phone are on the same wireless network.

The Xerox Print Service plug-in enables Android printing to many Xerox printers and MFPs without the need for third party apps or additional print drivers. Easily print photos, web pages and documents when your mobile device is connected to a compatible Xerox printer through a wireless network. Control print settings including color, number of copies, paper orientation, staples, secure code release printing, and more.

People want to print from their mobile devices, yet over 50% of smartphone users and over 35% of tablet users do not know how to print from their device because they don't have a printer that connects to their mobile device.

Xerox offers additional add-on mobile print capability for tracking, accounting, and additional security. If you need enterprise, anywhere printing, iOS, accounting, security or tracking, consider Xerox Workplace Solutions as add-on option.

HP Print Service Plugin is an official app from HP (although it works on Android devices from any manufacturer) that allows you to send any document from your Android to a printer connected to the same network. For this to work, obviously, the printer has to be from the HP inkjet or LaserJet series.

Installation of the HP Print Service Plugin is refused with the accompanying message that a previous version of the app is installed already. No further information about the app is given. I cannot detect this app on my phone, and uninstalling the corresponding Samsung plugin does not alleviate the problem. So, how can I find the app giving rise to the problem - or otherwise circumvent this error?

Printing apps: Until now I have used HP ePrint. As this is no longer supported I wanted to switch to HP Smart, and this requires the HP Print Service Plugin. HP ePrint is working, HP Smart has never worked as I have not been able to install the plugin. Since HP Smart hasn't worked I suppose as per definition no software changes have been made.

Installing the HP Smart app has never been a problem. But if you attempt to print something using this app, it requires you to also install the HP Print Service Plugin (evidently because its services are needed). And on my phone installing the plugin is always refused with an error message indicating that an incompatible version of the plugin has already been installed by another user. And, as I have mentioned before, I have never installed the plugin and I am unable to locate it among my installed apps. I have attempted various measures, e.g. uninstalling the Samsung Print Service Plugin, which judging by its name ought to be performing a similar task. So at this point I'm a bit lost at how to proceed...

I recommend you uninstall HP Smart App and also the HP print services plugin. Then clear the cache on your phone (Refer to the user manual of your phone to clear the cache) and then first install the HP print services plugin and then install the HP Smart App and check whether you are able to print.

So, unless there is further territory which might be explored, I guess I'll have to settle for an unresolved case at this point. And I usually have the possibility of printing from my PC anyway, even though it would have been more satisfying to find a resolution for the phone as well...

Thank you for guiding me to the local HP store. Unfortunately these people are primarily interested in the hardware, which in my case would be the printer. However, the issue here is not the printer itself; e.g. the HP Smart app communicates with, and recognizes, the printer. This is purely a software problem, and I fear that it would take someone a bit familiar with the inner workings of the HP printing software for smartphones to sort it out. But thanks again for your kind guidance.

Samsung Print Service Plugin is an official app from Samsung (it also works with Android devices from any other manufacturer) that lets you send any document from your Android to a printer found on the same network. For it to work, the printer obviously must be compatible.

The Brother Print Service Plugin enables printing directly from your Android devices (Android 5.0 or later), to your Brother printer through a Wi-Fi network. The Brother machine must be connected to a network that has a wireless broadcast. You Android device must also be connected to this network.

If Print is not listed in the application, then that application does not support printing using the Brother Print Service Plugin. You may try printing using an alternative method such as the Brother iPrint&Scan app or Mopria Print Service.

I print from my phone frequently. Problem with printing from share menu is document gets re-loaded, sometimes asking for login in the print preview. Today this happened with confirmation email from restaurant. Only work-around was to open in gmail app.

A: When you first select a printer, the Samsung Print Service Plugin communicates with the printer to retrieve its capabilities. During this time, you will not be able to change the print settings. If the print settings do not appear within about 10 seconds, press the Back button and try printing or sharing again. Busy networks or slow network connections can be a cause of this issue.

A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin does not support printing password protected PDF files. This is a security limitation to protect your file. Please use another app to open your file and save it without a password before printing.

A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin does not support printing via USB. We recommend wireless printing. Please ensure your mobile phone and your printer are both connected to the same wireless network.

A: While in the print preview screen, tap the down arrow to see additional options, then tap More Options. If your printer supports multiple quality levels you will be able to make a different selection.

When there are multiple print services installed on your device (e.g., Mopria, Android's Default Print Service, etc.), or if the printer has Wi-Fi Direct enabled and the printer is also on the same network as your mobile device, the printer may be displayed twice on the printer list. You may be able to resolve this issue by only enabling one active print service through the print settings menu or by disabling the Mopria option to search for Wi-Fi Direct printers.

While a print job is being sent to the printer, pull down the notification bar at the top of your Android device screen to view either a message or a progress bar. Tap on the bar to Cancel or Restart a print job. After the print job completes, the information is no longer available.

Whether you are printing wirelessly or connecting to your printer with a cable, you will need to have the appropriate plug-in apps on your phone. Installed plug-ins will be saved to your device and you can use them whenever you need to print.

If you are using a USB printer, you can use an OTG adapter and appropriate USB cable to plug directly into your phone's charging port. Or, you can plug the printer into one of the USB ports on your DeX accessory if you are using DeX mode.
