Im building a web app that allows users to input their planned field survey areas for the upcoming season. It is built from a feature service that displays the completion status of all potential survey areas, like this:
Thanks for your post. As you're specifying, "WITHOUT editing the symbology of the feature service" is a key element to your request: this means you can't simply edit the feature templates in the map as I would normally suggest below (this updates the layer's JSON):
In Enterprise, there are no Layer Views for feature services unless the service is hosted (data is copied). If it's referenced to a data store, perhaps you could publish a new feature service from the same Enterprise Geodatabase and symbolize it differently?
I have an HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 that's about a year old. It uses the HP Smart app on my desktop when I scan in documents and photos. My problem is NOT with my printer, it works fine. It's with the software HP Smart. Until about 3 or 4 days ago I could scan in things and edit them from the scan before I saved them. For example, I would scan a photo in, and I could edit the size down to exclude the areas around the photo that were not needed. I could do the same with documents as well when it was like a half sheet form I could scale down the size of the document to save just the document, not the entire area outside the size of the document. But then HP Smart did an update! Now I attempt to edit the scanned item and instead of it going to a screen with the bars on it so I can move them to scale it down, it shows me just the bars with no document shown underneath it. This is not an issue with my scanner because when I back out of the edit screen it shows me the document it just scanned again, but not in the edit screen. Why would you remove this feature? I found it very helpful and now it's basically useless to try to scale something down when you cannot even see the item to scale it. Also, I attempted to get help from HP online chat, and it demanded I enter my product model and serial number, even though the problem is with HP software, NOT my product. And for the sole reason of it being out of warranty, it refused to allow me to chat with anyone for help. But I couldn't proceed until I entered my product information. Again, you've rendered the help basically useless by forcing us to enter product information when that is not what we are even looking for assistance with. Has anyone had the same issue? Were you able to solve it? If so, what did you do? I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the HP Smart software and it doesn't fix the problem. HELP! TIA!
That link is to total bs about updating the software on the printer. That is not the problem! Does "support" READ these before responding? Better to remain frustratingly silent than to give suggestions like this.
SUPER frustrated!! My HP Envy 7155 is only six months old. It used to edit beautifully until just the past month or two. I've spent hours trying out the above fixes but they don't work and it just spins and spins. I finally deleted the software from my computer and reloaded it and it worked ONCE but then it stops working again. In case HP wants to know what is happening: Anytime I "edit" the screen goes to a white screen with grids but loses my photo, then a black screen. The only way out is to delete and start over. I've spent a TON of money over the years on HP products and this is the first time I've seen them ignore requests to fix whatever they've done to HPSMART editing. Ugggghhhh!! During this pandemic I'm going through boxloads of photos but this is adding to my stress. Does anyone know of another scanner that works properly?? I'm definitely ready to make a change.
Use the Editor widget with Smart Forms to improve your editing experiences and automatically calculate attributes. This widget is available in Map Viewer and app builders such as Experience Builder and Instant Apps.
In the Smart Editor widget, Intersection, Preset, Coordinate and Address Attribute Actions can be set to populate default values or to calculate values on the fly across different layers using location information.
Although Smart Forms can be created with form builders in Map Viewer or Field Maps, they are not limited to these products. Since Forms are stored in the web map, you can also use them in Experience Builder, Instant Apps, and custom apps you build using the Editor widget.
I am using my library instead of itune library or spotify. When I try to add a new folder I get the option of smart playlist. What is smart playlist and how is it different from regular playlist. Also I am not able to edit the folder name after it is created. Please I need help from more experienced people, I am new in djay world.
Thank you Laidback Fred for your kind and helpful response.
I still do not have the option to rename a playlist after I create it, the only 2 options are either delete it or change the order ( see picture below). Is there any way we can edit the names of these playlists?
I need help! My photography partner and I recently collaborated on editing a shoot in the hopes of getting it completed more quickly but we are having an issue with the files now. Originally after the session, she imported and ran presets on the original files in Lightroom Classic. Then exported as a catalog and sent the catalog to me. On my computer, i downloaded and imported the edited lightroom catalog into MY Lightrooom Classic to export them and do final edits and adjustments in Photoshop. As i was exporting them from lightroom onto my pc to open into photoshop, it said only smart preview is available for some files......so i exported, edited in photoshop, then imported back into lightroom to create a catalog to send back to her. The smart preview files are obviously substantially smaller then the original files. When i sent them back to her, she cannot sync them with the original edited files she exported to me. What do we need to do to sync the files? They are about 1mb smart preview files as of now.
Under normal conditions, when working with smart previews from Lightroom the option to edit in Photoshop will not be available. The master images must be available for that option should be used. I don't believe providing you with just smart previews is going to be a viable option if you are planning to use Photoshop as part of your workflow. It would work if you were only planning to use Lightroom, but if Photoshop is an integral part of the editing process then the master images are going to be needed. In the event that the master images are raw images, any performed in Photoshop will NOT be applied to the raw file. When the work is completed in Photoshop a new file must be created. Consequently, any work performed on a smart preview would not apply to the file anyway.
Agreed. When you tried to edit the images in Photoshop and couldn't, you should have stopped and asked yourself why. Or perhaps should have come here at that time and asked us why. Exporting the images and editing these smaller exported files in Photoshop created new, smaller Photoshop-files. There is no way to 'sync' these back to the originals, and the question is what that 'sync' would be anyway. A Photoshopped image is a new tiff or psd, not the original raw file with Photoshop edits, so your current situation is not all that different. The only difference is that your Photoshopped files are smaller, because you started from smart previews. If you can live with that then there is nothing you need to do, if not then you'll have to do the edits again starting from original raw files this time.
I just bought Affinity Designer and I'm trying to use mockups that were created in Photoshop but the problem I encounter is I can't edit the Smart Objects so basically, if the smart object have some text I can't edit it or move it around etc,... my question is if Affinity Designer is capable of editing smart objects imported from PhotoShop.
@MEB - valid point. Any response? And if you "struggle" to read PSD files, then why not create your own smart objects functionality, allowing 3rd party developers to create templates and mockups in .afdesign format.
Hi Helmar,
We never said we wouldn't try to add support for smart objects or that it wasn't possible, quite the contrary, however we are limited in time and resources (programers/coders). Things are being implemented as soon as we can/as soon as they are ready.
I know my response won't be appropriate, but the subject is more than 4 years old now, so I'm not sure where "time" comes in. WRT resources, can you put a handle on it in terms of man-hours and Euros? If you can, and if getting the right programmers is not a problem, then why not crowdfund the baby? I am sure the money will come in fast, so that you can allocate resources to it.
You know, where's a will, there's a way, and even if you charge 30 Euros for this feature alone, it will be taken up in a heartbeat, because it allows lots of PS users to finally cancel their subscription.
Re: embedded objects. No, not yet. Will check out the video right away.
Hi Helmar,
A considerable amount of requests were created as soon as the first release (1.0) come out - so yes you will find a quite few (old ones) that aren't yet in the program. This doesn't mean we haven't been working on the apps all these years, moving on according to what we planned as well as adding user's requested features whenever possible.
Since then we expanded and/or implemented various (other) new features, advanced with cross platform expansion (Windows, iOS) and recently completed the suite with Publisher. These things were necessary to keep expanding the user base and ultimately funding further development (as you probably know all minor updates are free so we get no money from them). New platforms and new users help us sustain grow until v2 of all apps come in.
Work on third party file formats/support - like smart objects or editable text export support just to name a couple - or any non-planned major features usually require quite some time/resources (besides heavy testing) and as such it's not always possible to pick tasks like these at will without compromising the balance of the whole development. We have been getting/hiring new programers for quite a while now however that's not as easy as it may seems and even when we do hire there's always a considerable period of time required to get acquainted to the code, workflows and the rest of the team.
