to Verizon is Evil
Verizon IS evil.
We use them for our business landlines AND cellular and it has been my
great displeasure to work with them on any number of issues...every
single one a Verizon-created issue that they refuse to correct. Not
to mention that they backdate their invoices, so that by the time they
are received, they are already past due; when I've contacted them on
this issue, I was directly told they do so in order to encourage
customers to sign up for automatic bill pay and that giving them full
access to our bank account is the only way to avoid late payment fees
in the future. Huh, I don't think so!
Sales can get NOTHING right. You order unlimited long-distance on all
landlines, you might get long-distance on one of those lines, then
have to argue with them for six weeks that you are really sure you'd
like the long-distance on all lines. Then, they transfer you from
department to department because no one knows who's job it is to fix
what and you are told, and I quote, "WE'RE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK TO EACH
OTHER"; 'even about customer service?', "no". That's INSANE.
We receive AT LEAST one advertisement a day from Verizon, trying to
sell us some product or service THAT WE ALREADY HAVE THROUGH THEM. We
have requested AT LEAST three times to be removed from their
advertising list...they say they are doing so, yet the ads continue to
pile up. This is particularly frustrating when you've ordered a
service, they are billing you for it (but not yet actually set it up
to WORK), and you receive several advertisements daily for same
service...IF YOU WANT ME TO GET THE SERVICE, GIVE IT TO ME, I'M
ALREADY PAYING FOR IT...YOU DON'T NEED TO KEEP SELLING IT TO ME!!!
I terminated my personal cellular plan with them years ago as - during
the month that my grandmother died - they charged me OVER $400 in
overage fees (yes, for ONE month) when I had NEVER used all my monthly
minutes even once in almost four years of cellular service (and know
darn well I didn't use all the minutes they indicated on that bill -
they had me on the phone during a funeral)...they were not even
willing to talk about it.
I have literally gotten to the point where I immediately ask to speak
to the "Escalation Department" when I have to call (which, believe me,
I do as rarely as physically possible). Not that the "Escalation
Department" is any better, in fact, it may be worse; but at least they
don't keep transferring you (though there is a high risk of being what
they call 'disconnected', even if you know they hung up). The fact
that a company has an entire department set aside to deal with people
they have "escalated" with their worthlessness proves that VERIZON IS
THE EPITOMY OF ALL THAT IS EVIL.
