Strange issue

Since a couple of weeks it occurs that any website hosted by my IIS 6.0
webserver cannot be found. Even when i type localhost or 127.0.0.1 on the
machine itself i experience the same. I can only resolve it by restarting
the physical machine; after about 2 of 3 days this issue comes back. Nothing
can be found in any logging.
The only changes besides Microsoft Updates on the server are installation of
the Backup Exec DLO Maintenance Service as well as Backup Exec Remote Agent
for Windows Systems. I could suspect these Backup Exec services but the
strange thing is that this issue occurs during daytime when the Backup Exec
is not running.
Searching on Google or on Symantec Backup Exec helpdesk did not help me. Yet
i want to ask this newsgroup because this behaviour occurs after setting up
the Backup Exec services.
The websites i run on IIS do use some different TCP ports besides port 80.
