Hi there Verible peeps,

I'm still using CentOs 7.8.2003 and not 7.9 yet. I can look into orchestrating an upgrade, but I was wondering if there would still be the occasional release for 7.8.2003. Or was it found that 7.9.2009 is compatible with 7.8.2003 so support for 8.2003 was dropped?

Perhaps I should just look into installing bazel and building locally, but I would prefer to avoid as much sudo work as possible. So far I like the formatter, but I can tell I'm a little out of date. This was the last release for 8.2003 I could find:

I'm afraid that CentOS 7.8 is no longer supported by CentOS (see https://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/General#How_does_CentOS_versioning_work.3F) and thus not possible to support. You are welcome to try and see if the CentOS 7.9 binaries works for you on CentOS 7.8

As an FYI, CentOS 7 line will continue to supported until 2024 but CentOS Linux 8 reached End Of Life (EOL) on December 31st, 2021 (see https://www.centos.org/centos-linux-eol/ and https://github.com/chipsalliance/verible/pull/1167).

You shouldn't need to use sudo to use Verible, it should work fine being run directly at the build location without needing to be installed.
