Hi,

Having such a license might bring people to abuse it and use it freely even as a profit project.
Unfortunately - I don't have a way of actually knowing the purpose of the project people are using the tool for.

I am not so greedy, but as a pet-project which I invested so much time and money in - I do want to make as much cash as possible from it.
I think the price of a commercial license, compared to the amount of time and money the tool saves a company, is fair.
Regarding the free edition - if you work for a private project in your home - the number of sources you can manage using the tool is enough.
When you need more than the free limit - unfortunately you will have to buy a professional license.
Adding ads in the tool is not considerable, sorry.

Here's a hint:
I do give discount coupons on demand. Feel free to email me personally ;)

Thanks,
Adrian

Hi there,

I would like to say thank you for this product and the time you spend to help us configuring Vercue or improove your software.

I would suggest why wouldn't you create a new type of licence, on demand, with more repositories allowed (a bit more than in free version, no more than 10 in any cases, not illimited) and the requirements would to host only local or OpenSource repositories.
To get remuneration, you could also implement ads that are shown only with this kind of license.
Actually, I'm using Vecue in a small network (about 15 ppl max) for a non-profit project, I currently have 5 repositories, hosted at home and I'm not able to spend a buck in any softwares.

What do you think about.
It's only a proposition,

Thank you for your incomming reply.
Regards.

Adding support for Git or Mercurial requires so much work and those kind of source-control systems are usually used by open-source developers or non-windows users.
Having that - the ROI will be very low.

Somewhat off-topic: I already said this when the first Vercue version was released, but will repeat again, seeing "current" trends, you should try to add monitoring (that would be enough I think) to Git repositories, and maybe Mercurial as well. I think that would make Vercue a rather attractive product (for me it already is, but that would be the icing on the cake).
