Hello!
I have two questions regarding the tool compatibility:

Is SVN-Monitor compatible with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2?

Has SVN-Monitor interfaces to Internet Explorer or Office? In that
case, is it compatible with Internet Explorer 8 and Office 2010 32
bits?

Thanks a lot!

Ana

Hi Ana,

SVN-Monitor is compatible with Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2. The only requirement are the .NET Framework (2.0 or higher) and TortoiseSVN.
Regarding IE and Office, the answer is no. Sorry.

I can confirm compatibility with windows 7. I had some difficulty
configuring svn+ssh authentication using pageant, but got it all
worked out in the end.

Hi Caz,

Lets try something:
  1. Close Vercue
  2. Open the Vercue config file for editing (under %appdata%\vercue)
  3. Find IgnoreNoPing and set it to True
  4. Save and reopen Vercue
See if anything changes and please keep me posted.

Thanks,
Adrian

Hi there.

You said that you manage to get it working with svn + ssh.
Could you please tell us how you do step by step ?
I'm currently getting mad on this issue cause when committing, it's asking me well my pass, but it won't do an update itself...

BTW, this can be also changed in the options screen, under the Sources settings ("Ignore No-Ping").
It can be even changed per-source in each source's settings dialog.

Thanks,
Adrian

Cheers!

A FAQ may be helpful but requires maintenance. This message board is good enough :)

Thanks,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Thank you for the feedback!
This solution works well (despite of my firewall talking me dirty x_x)!

I'm now able to see logs of my repos.

Thank you for your help. I'll reply to ppl having the same isue.
Maybe you can create FAQ on Vercue Website?

Unfortunately It's been a while, and I don't recall the specific steps.
However, I do remember that a large part of the issue I was having, which caused problems similar to what you describe, occurred because of the windows security.
Specifically, windows requires that processes attempting to communicate with each other be running at the same security level.  In my case, I was using pageant as my security provider, which was running under normal privileges, and I think I was attempting to run svn monitor with administrator privilege.  The solution was to run svn monitor as a regular user.

Here's how you can tell if windows security levels are the problem:
  1. Run a command prompt as a regular user and execute a svn operation against the remote repository
  2. Run a command prompt as administrator (right click on the command prompt shortcut and select run as administrator - you will get the win 7 security prompt) and execute the same  svn operation against the remote repository
If one or the other of those steps fails, then you know the cause of your issue, otherwise keep looking.

Good luck!
